Does anyone else sleep all day following the use of Hydro? SWIM takes 30mg and then can not wake up the next morning? No one here seems to mention this side affect.

Hydro basically is like advil to me now, I get it for BT pain taking about 30-40mg daily, It never made me sleepy, but it did for about a year help be make it through the day with the pain and lifting my spirits, but it does neither anymore, my next PM appt. I'm going for something new for BT pain. If it gives you the nods please be careful driving.

Doesn't bother me like that. Speeds me out more, then eventually when I am ready to go to sleep I go to sleep easily. Then I will wake up like 8 hours later and feel fine.

maybe your dose is a bit high for your tolerance and it just knocks you out? :p
hydro just gives me (or did in the past) a wicked head and neck ache..

With me, it is fully dependent on the mood I'm in or what I'm doing. For example, if I'm working in my yard and on a good hydro buzz, I'm so into it that hours will go by and I'm like a fucking kid on Ritalin.
If I'm watching TV late at night and it's quiet, I'll start to doze off :)
Funny thing is, sometimes I'll get the 'almost dozing' effect, only to spring right back after 10 minutes.

This is interesting... Everytime I've gotten a script for percs, I always get the "This will make you drowsy"-spiel.
But hydro and percs do the opposite: Make me wired and energetic!
From your guys posts, I wonder if it's a junkie-thing? Are people who get energetic from opies more likely to abuse them? Is it an sign, that you might be genetically predisposed to abusing opiates?
Any thoughts?

Same thing here. I take them all day at work and am usually zooming the whole time. When I get home tho and lay on the couch its a whole different story. I start to nod.

Well when I started taking them it was for a toothache. Then I kept taking them because I liked the uplifting feeling they gave me. Now I can't go to work without them. I guess I'd be one of the cases who started really abusing them because of being more energetic. Well that and the nice warm feeling I get.

Oh, man. I fucking love Vics at work. I'm a network engineer/pc technician/slave bastard for a big telecom, and I do soooo much better on vics....I'm more motivated, I'm nicer to people with trouble tickets, I get my work done faster and more efficiently and dare I say, I'm a better employee :p

I get exhausted on hydro, it doesn't seem to matter how much dosage. That's why I don't like hydro, even though I have tried it lots of times and I even have a script for it.
I wish I could enjoy hydro more. Codeine seems to be the same way, ie. makes me tired.
Oxy definately is more like a mild stimulant but if I combine it with a benzo then it switches over into nod time.
I am kind of depressed type so I like more stimulant type opies, and probably why I stick to the smaller doses where you get more of the stimulant and antidepressant type of effects.
Actually reading these posts makes me want to try hydro again, maybe in real small doses, I can get a better response.

There seems to be a threshold with opi's where just a little will give a lot of people a nice stimulative effect but if you push it you wind up in a euphoric and or sedative state, or none of the above.
I suspect that the stimulative aspect of low doses of opiates is actually more of an alleviation of some chemical imbalance in the brain, depression for example.

when i first started taking hydro, this would happen to me. it would be REALLY hard for me to wake up the next morning. hasnt happened in like 7 years tho with hydro.
it still happens to me with benzos tho. last nite i took a xanny bar and this morning i tried to wake up at 7:45, 8:30, 9, and finally i forced myself out of bed at 11:36.

I First started taking hyrdocodone about 5 or 6 six years ago, and I'm on them as we speak. I get a very mild but noticable opiate effect off 8 of them. The 5/500 so I can only take 8 a day, so I've already hit 6 today so I'm gonna have to cold water extract the rest. Not a very big fan of them but when theres no oxycontin available then its gonna have to do. I usually wait for them to kick in for about 20 minutes then a smoke a nice joint of some dro then it does the trick. But Yea I never get exhausted off of any opiates for that matter!!

I think certain peeps are that way. I know i am. I use to rig a load of dope and be off the fucking wall. My mom thought I was on crack LoL. My friends could do half the dose i would do and nod hard.

I'm on 35mgs right now after another in a long series of root canals. I've decided no more asking the dentist for roxi 30s. But gotdamn I can't believe how high these motherfuckers used to get me. Not so much anymore.
Ah well I'm resigned to oxycodone now. The 14th can't get here quick enough:cool:

Bro, I can take anywhere from 30 to 80 mg hydro in a day and my next day or 2 is nothing but wanting to sleep. If I can keep poppin hydro though at 5:00 AM when I wake up, I am fine, but if I dont have more when they wear off, sleepy city I go.
Shit, If I am having hydro WD, I sleep in my chair at work.

I always found hydro to have the most unique feeling from all the opiates. A while back I took about 60 mg of 1mg/ml cough syrup hydrocodone and it gave me the most unique warmpth inside my chest and even felt like a mild MDMA high with empathic feelings minus the speediness. I haven't had much luck finding it as it isn't prescribed as much in Canada but if i could get it all the time I definately would. It's perfect for the social scene. I'm curious if this stuff can be IVed anyone know or tried it? Is it not recommended like codeine or can it be done safely?

IVing hydr apparently runs the risk of pulmonary edema. At least that's the answer I got when posed the same question on Bluelight.

I've read it can be IV'ed, the pulmonary edema thing is people confusing it with codeine cause it sounds similiar. Just curious if anyone has first hand experience themselves, I've never met anyone that has.
