Glad you made it dude. Next time though, lock the damn guns up. Come to think of it, hide the keys and anything else dangerous. Besides you, I've heard of people doing some crazy shit on Ambien.

Good point to bring up, AO.
It seems the media sensationalizes just about anything they can anymore. Given the fact that Ambien is a scheduled drug (even though it's only C-IV), I'm sure they'll describe it a "potent, addictive, and dangerous sleeping pill"...
I get mad as hell when I see that kind of shit. Misinformation is sometimes more dangerous than the issue itself.

Itll be on tonight @ 10. heres a lil summary of it: http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/18328999.html
It's glad to be back though! I probly won't be on too often but ill for sure be around. The pain is still definitely there but its ALOT better than it was. I was barely able to lift my damn leg. Now im able to lift it up and hold it while i walk with my crutches! :D I'm now somewhat able to put weight on my leg but god damn it hurts! Gotta do what you dont want to though.. otherwise ill be stuck in a damn wheel chair for years! screw that!!! Right now im just taking it day by day and doing the best i can.

~~~~ Me neither! I was hoping they would let me view the segment before they air it.. but they couldn't so.. im anxious to see what they say.
~~~~Ambien is evrything that you described it as. Whats your reasoning on how its not a dangerous sleeping pill? Thousands reports of gambling, shopping, eating, cooking, driving isn't enough evidence to call it dangerous? I mean it's like Russian roulette really. One night you can take it and be fine. The next night, you could be another statistic. At first it worked for me and i didn't have any side affects except one night i woke up with a bloody back. I had scratched the middle of my back raw while i was sleeping. I guess i had an itch!! lol But i never really thought of it as a side-effect until after this incident.

I've taken it numerous times as needed and I've never once had any issues with it.

Ya, I saw that (browsed around your original link and located it). And it sure looks like its shaping up to be portrayed exactly how AO and Brony feared it would.
But what else can we expect? Its a well known fact that a factual story about a shooting is no where near as entertaining as sensationalized trumped up fear-mongering that leaves you in a state of utter panic. Thats what everyone wants to see when they sit down to dinner after a hard days work, right?!?!
[/sarcasm]
Thats why I refuse to be interviewed or make any statement about anything. I don't want to lend credence to anything they say by having my name associated with it whatsoever. Not that inventing a quote is beyond these pricks. But pulling a phrase out of context is just about their favorite thing to do.
I sincerely hope they dont run your good name through the dirt Senor Waggz. [crosses fingers] Let us know what you think of the story once it drops?

i wish i could say the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and for some it works just fine.. i guess it just depends on your chemical make-up. and about a week or 2 it was working for me aswell. i just wish i wouldn't have taken it that nite. but who knows.. it could of happend to anyone i guess.
and if im back on the computer nemore tonite after the story ill be glad to drop a line of what i thought of it.

Good to see you around Waggz. It's way too late in the game to worry about how the media is going to cover something like this. If it's not the ambien, it's the guns. It would be nice to see somebody research this objectively to try to understand why your body reacted to the medication the way it did. I can't remember whether you said you had anything else in your system or not? Good luck bro! Keep fighting the fight.
I don't believe in the witch hunt crap, but Waggz is paying his dues and will be for a long time. I respect the fact that he's looking at this from a harm reduction standpoint and not wanting anybody else to have the same experience.

If it's not the ambien, it's the guns.
Valid point. I just think ambien patients already get a fair warning regarding that side effect and I'm gonna be super pissed if future Ambien-hysteria ends up catching on throughout the media and the drug becomes relegated to the realm of 'Drugs doctors are too afraid to prescribe.'
I like ambien and appreciate very much that its so widely scripted ATM! :( They do say that all good things...
Don't get me wrong, I think Waggz recent experience is fucked up. But he's not the one narrow-minded enough to advocate any restriction on the drug, we'll save that job for the Bill O'Fascists out there...

Yeah this has class action written all over it. I respect Waggz for wanting to fight a moral battle. He is young and he is trying to take a moral action from a harm reduction standpoint but what you and Brony are pointing out is that it can and will be used by attorneys, LE, the media etc for their own immoral agendas. Waggz just needs to be aware of these agendas and not fall for them.
Hey kid, wats up...?
Hope its all good, quite a few of us are interested in your progress..I know what it feels like to be shot and the long road of recovery...
Kid you gotta work through the pain or you'll be on them crutches for years....I was on them for 18mths.. But after my final op (20mths ago) my leg is good to go..I'm finally walkin properly after havin a limp for 10yrs...
Although my injury was to my femur,not knee...Ya got the short straw on that one!....Good luck and let us know how ya gettin on...

Can't say I have. There are a lot of AWOL opies I have been wondering about
lately. Hope they are just in a NA meeting or something and nothing worse,
although NA meetings are pretty bad.

Got me worryin about the kid too.....As we have de ol gunshot ting in common and i know wat the long road of recovery is like...
Took me about 12 yrs to finally get back some normal walkin(well i had a limp)...But when i was in serious pain on cruthes i was chasin every day.....Maybe dis kid has found some good meds an is just noddin out, hope so.....
Wonder if he's got a law suit goin on?.....Thats why he stayed away?

Ambien puts me out like a light. I have woke up standing in the kitchen making a sandwhich, or with my face in the keyboard. Thats why its supposed to be taken while in bed.
I have heard of people driving and dont even remember it.
Nothing very recreational about lights out.

Just typed up a post but it turned to dust. Anyway, the last time I hear from Waggz was August 21st, 2008. He left me a message on my visitor page. I used to email him now and then but it's been a while.
So Waggz, if you're out there, drop us a line and let all of old-timers know you're OK.
Later.
