Weird Suboxone reactions(sorry, it's long)...

Hello everyone, I'm brand spankin' new here, but I lurked around for a bit and everyone here seems very helpful and knowledgable. I discovered y'all after being a member of another well known site and this place seems well-suited to my interests and needs.

Anyway, in a nutshell, here's my situation: My wife and I quit a decent sized opiate habit back in December (100-140mgs oxy a day, sometimes Methadone and Heroin, but mostly Oxycontin, Roxicodone, and Percocet, daily for 8 months, steady use for over 2 years). She went on a Suboxone program, I did not--just toughed out the w/d with a small Percocet taper. I was completely clean for 5 weeks, then did her Sub a couple times (and got quite the recreational high) and did OC a couple of times, all with her knowledge and approval. In the meantime, she's been doing her own taper and is currently down to 2mgs daily (her docs are insane about prescribing it to her, and we've got quite a stockpile as a result). I should add that we do not IV, only oral ingestion and insufflation.

SO: the last 3 weekends, we've been copping decent Heroin, using, then completely abstaining during the week. My wife has been going back to 2mg Sub on Monday, continuing thru the week and all's been well. 'Till yesterday, that is: we did our last lines on Sat nite, 10ish, and yesterday at about 4 she felt early w/d coming on. We both felt it should be ok, as it had been 16 hours since the last of the H. Well, her w/d's immediately got WAY worse, and I could tell: she was shivery, clammy to the touch, fingers shaking, etc.. She took some benzos, knocked herself out, and slept thru the nite. This morning, she felt mild w/d, took the 2mg Suboxone, and the same thing happened---immediately got sicker. So I took 2mgs Sub myself, just to see what would happen: well, no sickness, in fact, I even felt the tiniest opiate effect from it. So, we can't figure out WTF is going on...

I should add that until this weekend, the H we copped was the same each time. This past weekend, it was different, from a different source. It wasn't the usual tan powder we usually get, it was whiter and more clumpier on the mirror. I didn't feel it was as good as our previous weekends stuff, but it still got us high, on basically the same amount. I've heard the horror stories about the fentanyl-heroin in Chicago, which is not far from where we live, and I wonder if maybe we got some stomped-on version of that or what, or maybe I'm just being paranoid...

Anyhoo, good to be here, and if anyone's got an idea what the hell is going on with this, I'd be most grateful....

Hey ZodiacKiller, cool Avator. As for the subs, I have no idea. Maybe she was still high from the H when she took her subs. You have to wait until you are w/ding to be able to take a sub. If you still have any opiates in you and you take a sub, this can bring on the w/ds even more. I have been on subs for quite a while now, and anytime I take a little binge, I always have to wait until I am deep into w/ds before I take a dose of sub.

^Well, that's the thing, we've felt we are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to recognizing the actual w/d and not just the mental "fear", and since it had been 16 hours since the last of the H, she should have been in the clear. In the past , she's taken 2mg of Sub at the first signs of w/d (and I'm talking about the chills, anxiety, slight fever---not full on puking wish-I-was-dead w/d) and had NO problem at all. The only conclusion I can come up with is that since it was different H, maybe it had a longer half-life for her. But then again, just to test that theory, I took 2mg Sub this morning (as I stated above), and had no adverse reaction at all. So who knows. But now she is fearing her Suboxone, and talking like she wants to kick c/t this week. This should be an eventful week.**sigh**

Im pretty sure she'll get over it, a lot of times it will get out of out systems faster. It seems to stick with the females a little bit longer. The half life excuse sounds like exactly what it was. We usually get things out of our systems faster than our ladies, thats why we usually always go into w/d first. Then again, bup is a weird fuckin drug. You think you know it, then it will turn and show you a completely different face.

Hey, I had some shit that I thougt was some fentanyl heroin back in 1996, in Richmond, VA. I got a BIG bag, all heat sealed in a tiny blue ziplock, for like $30. It was a totally pure white powder.

I snorted some of it and got high, and did some more, after which I got sooooo sick, puking my guts out for basically the whole night. It was to strong. The effects lasted longer than regular heroin too.

It was definitely an opiate, but it was was stronger than reg. H. and it lasted way longer too. I am convinced that that shit was some sort of synthetic opiate, not H. I am glad I didn't shoot it, as I was snorting and shooting at the time, I just snorted some. I might not be here today if I did shoot up like the whole bag.

It might have been Fentanyl, although it doesnt completely sound like it cause tar will always last longet than Fent. Fent is a very short-acting drug, compared to H. But if you DID have a big ol bag of white powder (FOR 30 BUCKS!!!!!) you scored!! Fentanyl is scary shit, easy to OD on.
