as the title said i left the tie on my arm a little to pull some blood back out and push it back in to make sure i got it all. anyways, when i took the tie off, i didnt get the taste or anything, this was a big shot btw, but my lower arm was completely numb to my finger nails. it is slowly going away, but I am still sort of worried. why did this not ciruclate through my body, i know i hit it. I even held my arm up for minutes to try to circulate...

I bet you probably did a subcutaneous injection without realizing it. If you are close to the skin, you will still pull back blood the same way that you would if you were in a vein.

It still would have been absorbed... but much more slowly. This is why your arm was numb... the coke sat under your arm and slowly disappated.

You are going to be fine... just monitor it and if starts to get irritated or swollen, just rub the area and put some ice on it. It will probably go away on its own so you won't have to worry about any of this.

I hope this helps...

You missed the shot.

Coke is a local anesthetic so it made your arm numb. That doesnt occur when you hit the vein.

DO NOT put ice on it! In fact, if you warm it up with a heat pad or hot water you will increase the circulation, pumping the drug into your system and out of your arm.

The risk of abscess is greater but chances are it'll go away like nothing ever happened. Next time try harder not to waste your shot!

I'm not sure whether you were tied off or not had anything to do with it. Shooting tied off is bad for your veins but some people just have shitty veins and need to stay tied off...

much appreciated. it is pretty much better now. im just salty i wasted like .5 i was tryna get fucked up.

the weird thing about it being subcutaneous is blood pulled back really quickly, and the poke was all the way in like the shot i hit just before. i mean, i must have missed, but it really didnt feel like a miss at all. i even got that great feeling of satisfaction when you pull the plunger back and the blood rushes in...

Bummer man.

That happens to me too. Sometimes I'll swear I got a perfect shot, no possible way i could have fucked it up. Then low and behold, I fucked the whole thing up somehow!

I usually blame the vein and consequently lose trust in that injection site.

Reminds me. The other day I did an issue of black and missed. I was goin for the vein on the far side of my right elbow and now I have a numb spot about an inch below the injection sight extending for about two inches right along the vein. Anyone have any idea what that could be?

Is it possible that you've blown that vein?
Did you check afterwards - is it still usable??

It happens a lot with smaller veins when you leave the tie on and push the plunger.
It is really NOT recommended to leave the tie on while pushing the plunger - too much pressure especially for smaller veins to handle, and it's probably one of the leading causes of premature vein collapse.
When i was only starting out, I used to leave the tourniquet on too sometimes while pushing the load and none of the veins i did that with lasted very long.

Although, like others have said - you might have just missed it, which is better than loosing a vein, i suppose..

subcutaneous injection, no doubt.

I agree with the above poster...loosen the tie before you push the button...or learn to hit without one. safer.

I think the whole tie on thing is a bit unneccessary. You see it in movies involving IV injections all the time and before I shot up I assumed that is what you were just supposed to do, but when I started shooting up with my experienced friend, he never tied off and neither did I. Alot of his veins were shot too, because he had been shooting up on and off for over 20 years. My veins are young, so it's easy for me, as long as I manage to avoid becoming a junkie, but I don't binge on one drug, I like to do many drugs at different dates and occassionally be sober or just get drunk. Opiates are still my passion though.
