Okay. I need help. I want to watch netflix online. So therefore, I need windows media player 11 (I have 9 still). In order to get 11, you have to validate your copy of windows- this is some gestappo-ass shit. My copy of windows is old, but 100% genuine. I'm sure if I went through all the hassles, I could eventually get it sorted out with microsoft, but I'd rather not deal with all that.

So, whats the quick & dirty way to get Windows Media Player 11 onto my computer with an invalid license? I know somebody out there knows this shit.

BTW fuck microsoft and their evil empire right up bill gate's durty crusty west coast brown tar asshole.

****edit- I hope the whole town of redmond is destroyed in a huge firestorm. Thats what you get for living in the woods, techno-hippies!****

have you tried downloading it from a third party site. i.e. other than m1crosoft? maybe theres a site that wont link to microballs. keep in mind WMP 11 is still in beta

Tried it. I was having the same problem installing Service Pack 2, and 3rd party worked for that. But so far, no dice with WMP11, even from a 3rd party, doesnt matter because the validation is part of the installation process- like after you download the .exe file and after its extracted the contents, the installation wizard prompts you to validate your copy of windows. No validation=no WMP11

okay. Netflix must just have something personal against me. First they wanted me to get service pack 2. So I did (pain in the ass w/o validaton). Then they wanted me to use shitty explorer instead of firefox. So I did. Then they wanted me to get Windows Media Player 11. So I did (again a pain in the ass to do w/o validation).

And now, I STILL can't watch movies online because of the fucking DRM bullshit, probably from having a shady copy of WMP11.

What the fuck!

Is there ANY way around this bullshit? All I need to do now is get around that DRM bullshit somehow. Possible?

Stop Being a fucking crook. :p

WMP, does it need to check the net for it's DRM?

I've never used the netflix online shit, I got a netflix warehouse down the road so my turn around time is a day, I just get 'em in the mail....copy.....send back, good shit.

So you can only use WMP and it has to be ver.11 w/ netflix, fucked up.

Just get your shit straight w/ M$ unless you really do have a bogus copy.
Send me your acount info I'll download the movie, then make a torrent out of it and you can download it from me....sound good.

If you haven't already sorted this out, lemme know, I can think of several ways to probably make it work, so one of them should pan out. If I knew your system specs, i'd be able to say with a lil more certainty, but ain't technology wonderful?

after 2 hours on the phone with windows, problem is solved. And I have a new friend in india. His name is Justin and he's from new dehli. he's very helpful.

Those douchebags deactivated my VALID license key for NO REASON other than trying to get me to buy a new copy of windows.

I'd love to be able to use the Netflix view online feature, I checked it out today at a friend's house and it really is amazingly good quality video, on demand, any time you want it. But alas, at home I still use Windows 98, and the new Media Player just won't work with such an antiquated system. I'm not likely to update, either, for most tasks my 8 year old Win 98 machine is actually faster and more responsive than a lot of brand new computers - an admittedly ridiculous state of affairs caused mainly by subsequent operating system bloat, but that's a whole 'nother rant. So no instant Netflix for me, not unless some excedingly clever person figures out a way to get the Netflix/Microsoft DRM software running on pre-XP versions of Windows...
