A very nice herbalist lady made me some tea to try out on migraines which contained a great deal of valerian root. I tried it and it didn't help with migraines, so I tried it again, with a half cup of pod grounds, and it worked great!

But not just great, it felt like I had a whole cup of grounds, caught a light nod too. Something I've never gotten from only a half cup.

As a bonus, to my tastes, the mix made the tea much more pleasant.

Just something that some of you might want to try, valerian root is cheap, and I'm certainly going to get a whole bunch more.

It is not surprising to me that you thought that valerian root was a good potentiator. What is surprising is that you thought that valerian root IMPROVED THE TASTE OF YOUR TEA?!?! I don't know how that possibly could have happened? Valerian Root smells terrible and tastes worse, I can't even imagine the idea of it making your PT taste better. :D I am just giving you a hard time. Valerian Root is pretty good stuff. Kava Kava is as well. I used both when my habit was younger and my habit was on the smaller side. But like with all supplements, you have to be sure to get the best stuff. None of the crappy grocery store shelf supplements are usually worth the money...

The tea she made was quite good, probably from the lemon grass and other things just to mask the valerian root, possibly that made the pods taste better too. I'm a convert, without this tea, I'd gag and be nauseous for a half hour after chugging the tea. With her formula, I can enjoy sipping it, (pod powder strained out of course)

I'll ask her the formula and post it on the Pap. Somni. section if I get it. Lemon grass is the main ingredient, along with some valarian root and other stuff.
