Whats up peeps?

My fiance has been struggling with kidney stones over the last week or so. I took her to the Er last Friday and they keep her till Sunday after putting a stint into her kidney. When they released her, they gave her a script for 40 5-500 Lortabs. (That sucks) Well yesterday, she started hurting again so back to the ER we went. They gave her 2 shots of Dilaudid & a shot of Tramadol, I think it was. She has never took any drugs in her life except maybe weed once or twice. So when the ER Dr released her he asked her how the medication he gave her thru the IV helped her & of course it helped her so he wrote her a script for #30 2mg Dilaudid. I went and filled them at the CVS for her & I couldnt even wait till I got home before I got right. Off to the CVS bathroom. Now heres my question, how do you guys prepare your Dillie for IV use? I basically crushed up 5 of the 2mgs (10 mg) & put about 3/4 cc of cold water, stirr it really well, lightly heat it untill the water gets a little clear, throw a peice of cotton, and you know the rest. Since Morphine (MS Contin) is my DOC, I very rarely get any dillies. Although in my opionin, you cant beat the rush (pins & needles) of a 120 mg Ms Contin shot, the dillies are alot different. They sort of slightly take my breath when I do a shot. Well I just wanted to share some gratitude for today, & I hope each & every one of you are in an opiate fueled bliss. Peace.

Here's hoping your girl doesn't need those pills more than you do.

Oh and BTW, could the second shot have been Demerol (instead of tramadol)? A shot of tramadol doesn't really sound like something John Q. ER_Doc would think of off the top of their head... Pretty inventive actually, if thats what they really gave her.

Yup, your chances of getting the doc to write you another script of anything is highly unlikley, so dont think that you can go back and get more, chances are, it wont happen...

Isn't something called Toradol (SP?) common? Along the same shitty lines as Tramadol. That's the only thing I can think of.

I meant to say that she gave me 20 of them and she is keeping the rest. It wasn't Tramadol, it was Taradol I think.

Yep, toradol is commonly given in kidney situations. It actually does help the pain in a long-acting kind of way. :-)
