WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT????

Hi everyone, I posted a thread a few days ago, asking about the bup. Well, I found a doctor in my area that wasnt trying to screw me outta my loot!! The doc i found is charging $200 for the first visit and $50 each additional visit. I thought this was reasonable. Anyway, I was wondering what to expect. I have tapered down to 30mg of methadone and have been at that dose for about a week now. I have only been on methadone for 14 months. I hear the less time youve been on meth the easier it is to get off. I'm just not sure how much i should withdraw before taking the bup. The doc initially told me to skip my dose on wed. and come in to his office at 9:00am fri. That sounded way too long for me, so he said i can take my last dose on wed. morning. I dont know about the rest of the methadone patients, but if i dont take it right away i freak the f**k out. I go into a full blown anxiety attack, chills etc... One time I started violently vommitting up this clear mucus type shit and thought i was gonna die.. This all happened from just missing one days dose. Maybe it was just alot of anxiety, but it sure did suck!!! anyway any input on what to expect would be great!!

Sounds to me like you got a pretty good deal. My dr wanted almost double that and I pay quite a bit more per visit.

My only advice to you as a methadone user is to make sure that you're noticably in withdrawal before you start taking the bup. That doesn't mean you should be experiencing all the symptoms you listed, but in enough withdrawal that you're sweating, have the chills, and maybe a touch of the muscle ache. that 'freak the fuck out' you're talking about is everyday junk sickness (and in a way, the reason why many of us are here.)

Another member, rebecca (http://forum.opiophile.org/member.php?u=91) just started the bup a day or so ago as well. A PM to her might be beneficial...?

I have been on suboxone for about 8 months now. I am down to 4 mg's a day. If you really do want to quit I think it is the best method. Dont get me wrong, I still ache for a good high every now and then, but it does work. For myself, I have always made everything worse inside my own head. It is so mental its amazing. You can almost talk yourself out of anything. (easier said than done) In a nut-shell, suboxone is great, and to add to that you are getting a great price. My initial 1st visit was 450.00 and each visit after that is 150.00 (every frickin month).
