A friend came upon a half of a subutex at rehab and offered it to me. I've done mostly OC, HC, and pod tea as far as opiates for a long time minus the last one. I've read a lot about withdrawals with bupe and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on how to jump into my first test with it :D

Please be careful if you take this pill, keep in mind that everybody's chemistry is different. The worst case would be if you are currently taking any opiates and within 24 hours or before wd sets in then you take the subutex soon after or right after or with oxy or whatever, it could put you in horrible wd(withdrawal). For me at least, my body chemistry does not agree at all with two different types of opiates taken at or near the same time as each other. For example, one time I was just starting to suffer withdrawal from vicodin and within only 12 hours or less I took 2 darvocet to get rid of the wd, it made it worse and the more darvocet I took, the worse the wd got, I got so scared because I was starting to feel mental confusion and just a full blown wd with the chills being the worst. If you are new to this site, hang around and read alot, there is alot of cool nice people here and alot of life saving and helpful info here.

If all you have is 1/2 a subutex (that would be only 1 mg) than just take it, Its not a recreational (in my eyes) drug where you take it to get high or euphoric. Its main purpose is to wean someone off opies or to maintain them on a daily regimate of opiates. I doubt it will be all that pleasuarble to you, but give it a try anyways.

Im actually pretty curious as to what someone thinks of bup that isnt using it as a substitute drug. Please post results.

i had a suboxone yesterday, i let it dissolve under my tounge, after being in rehab for 2 weeks and not using any opiates in over 3 weeks and it actually had some sort of effect for me. it was different than other opiates though. it was pleasant but i also had taken my perscribed adderall, 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon and i think that might have had some sort of effect on it too. i also noticed i nodded out but ill be getting a suboxone and subutex on friday so which one is better to use?

There is a small difference between a suboxone and subutex....

suboxone - buprenorphine and naloxone, the naloxone is added to discourage shooting them

subutex - buprenorphine (no naloxone)

If placed under the tongue, they will both provide you with the same results. They just taste differently.

hmm...he says now that hes getting both a subutex and a suboxone. i probably won't touch them for a little while as i'll probably be getting a bit of OC on thursday. I'll definetly post my experience though, with whichever route i end up taking.

yeah i know about the naxalone, i was actually perscribed naltrexone by the psych at rehab but i didnt take it the day i took the suboxone. would it have been stronger if i had stopped taking the naltrexone a few days before i did the suboxone?

Naloxone may raise liver enzymes. I don't know if the subutex w/o naloxone does this.

Can nalaxone make people lethargic? Does the nalaxone effect the strength of the buprenorphine at all? I rather have a pill without this nalaxone shit in it, I feel like it's giving me all the bad side effects of suboxone.

so we would like to believe, I always complained of stomach problems w/ my suboxone. But its only because I wanted to be able to snort my subutex if I saw fit. Every doc I have spoken to about the naloxone in the suboxone says that there is such a small amount of it in each pill, that sublingualy, none of the naloxone should be absorbed at all. Then again thats what the doc said, and from experience, they aint not the smrtest people i ever met, (pun intended)

Yeah, they said that to me also but I didn't really believe it. Buprenorphine to Nalaxone is at a 4:1 ratio. Buprenorphine is said to have a sublingual bioavailability of 40-60% and Nalaxone at 10% "or lower." Wouldn't that 10% still add to the side effects? Also, I don't understand why the sublingual bioavailability is 40-60%.. why can't it be higher? I heard adding alcohol to bupe increases the bioavailability, and that there is some liquid buprenorphine being studied that has a higher biovailability.
