I have been doing m.m.t and wanna switch to bupe but it just seems too expensive. I went to the naabt.org site and have been contacted by doctors but they all are just interested in how much money they can leach out of people. I have heard that some docs will do one re-fill and that would ease some of the cost burden, does anybody know about Doctors in Detroit or in Michigan doing re-fills? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Well I was hoping that somebody from Michigan would know something but atleast I do know for sure that it is legal to do re-fills now. Thanks guys. Now all I need to do is convince the sub doc I am going to Friday that this is legal and normal. I will most likely wait a while before I cut into him. I do have real bad anxiety and I have had Xanax scripted before, I know that almost any doctor is gonna act like it is illegal to prescribe the 2 of them togethor but it really isn't, how will I go about doing this? Any ideas? Thanks!!

I live in West Mich, and I recently switched sub docs to a guy who is really down to earth... I have only gone once so I don't know if he will for sure do refills but he did say something about some of his patients only come see him once every two months instead of once a month.

I am in Wisconsin, but my doc was already doing at least one refill (so I could skip a month's visit - I was out of insurance benefits at that point for the year)... so I ended up stretching it out and not seeing him from October until the new year.
And I had only been a patient for 3 months at that point.
I know some of these guys (and gals) are out for the money, but there ARE some decent ones. The key, I found, is to be very open with them about your situation. Some will say tough shit and some will work with you.
I wish you all the best. Easy to stretch out the script when you are given say, 8mg 2-3 times per day which is WAY more than needed; I only need 4mg and now I am scripted 8mg per day since I am tapering. But still, if I control myself and don't take that "extra pill" I think I need (which I don't) I can really stretch out the times I need to see him.

I kind of posted something like this in another thread but the U.S. is way over doing it on the doses of bupe. From what I can tell is that other countries usually recommend .2 mg. like 4x a day. It would take 40 .2 mg tabs to make one 8 mg. tab!! Due to the extremely high binding affinity people only feel anything from bupe on there first day. After that they experience no change because there receptors are so over loaded. If you only took .2 or .5 at a time and let your receptors clear before you do it again you would feel it. Kind of like when you have H constantly you will stop feeling any real good rushes from it.
