Ok, I dont know what the heck is going on, but right now I wish I had all the heroin I could handle. I've been on 24mg suboxone for months now, long story short, just a few days ago my stomach area started hurting, mainly worse when I first wake up. The suboxone helps with the pain a tiny bit but not much. Today I started taking those 200mg otc tagamets and they dont help too much. This stomach pain is getting worse and worse. Anyone else have this happen while on suboxone? I just saw my sub doctor a few days ago for my refill and told him about my stomach pain had just started, in saying that I was hopeing maybe its a side effect from that lousy naloxone in sub and that maybe he would switch me to subutex instead. I want so bad to be on that instead anyway, but the sad thing is, my docs policy just wont change so there is no way for me to get on subutex unless I find another sub doctor or switch to methadone. I dont know what the heck to do at this point, I'm almost with no money and this sucks. This stomach pain has been constant so I dont know if its an ulcer or whatnot. I only had one ulcer in my life back in 1989 and it was the same similar pain, so I dont know if I got an ulcer again or if the suboxone is doing something. Hopefully I might get lucky and its the sub doing it and I'll get switched to a much better maint drug. Anyone got any suggestions or ideas etc?

Yes Opio, I had the same thing when I was on suboxone. Ever since I switched to subutex I havnt had any problems, except for snorting or shooting th little bastards every now and then.

Ooooh yeah. I was on subutex from the very beginning, with the first bupe doc I went to back in the beginning of November last year. He was doing detox (2-week taper), so he prescribed subutex. They usually use subutex for detox regimens. Well, we had to do that taper regimen over again one time, to no avail - I got bad WD like clockwork 3 days after my last dose of bupe both times. So, I said, "hey, this doesn't seem to be working, could I just go ahead and do maintenance?" To which this doctor said, "no, I just don't do the maintenance, only detox, that's my policy. If yoo want to get on dee maintenance, then that's your decision. I tink you should jus tuff it out dough (Afghan accent) and deal with the symptom" I said "no, I want to go on maintenance, what with Christmas coming up and everything, I don't want to be all sick and withdrawing over Chistmas and new year's." -

He was pretty cool about despite not agreeing to put me on maintenance, which was probably for the better anyway, because what he did then was prescribe me about 20 or 30 of the little 2mg subutexes, just to get me through until I could find another bupe doc in the area to put me on maintenance. Within that week (this was like early December now), I found this doctor who actually is really cool, who does maintenance and is still taking patients. Fuck, he probably has 100 people on bupe! (don't tell the DEA ,though). So, this second doctor just started prescribing subutex because that is what I was taking sort when I first came to him. After the first couple of visits with this second doctor, he said "how a bout we try da subxone (Chinese accent)?" I said, "why not, it's pretty much the same, right?" Well, a couple days into that suboxone prescription, I was having second thoughts, mainly because I couldn't snort them anymore, but also because I was noticing basically NO EFFECTS FROM THE FUCKERS. I also would get a bad aftertaste in my mouth, followed by a heartburn-like feeling after I'd take one of those 8mg suboxones. They smell really nice when they are in the bottle, but that artificial orange flavor and all the sweetener they put in it is gross when you put them in your mouth. I read ingredients listed on the package insert from the pharmacy bottle (I asked the pharmacist to give the package insert), and the ingredients read like a freakin' diet soda! They also have citric acid or malic acid in them for tartness (which is a common ingredient in fruit flavored candies also), but these ingredients can cause heartburn, because, as the name says, they are acidic substances. So, that's probably what it is.

I called that doctor back and was straight with him about suboxone having no effects and giving me bad heartburn and he put me right back on subutex, even though he said I am the ONLY patient he has ever had that has complained of this particular problem. I am very grateful that he is willing to do this for me, but I think more people should be able to get on subutex because those fucking suboxones are nasty, with all that gross orange flavor in them. Anyone who is allergic to artificial food colorings should be able to get on subutex, because the suboxones are loaded with orange food coloring too. I think that's a legitimate reason for a doctor to use subutex for maintenace treatment in a patient. So, you should able to find a doctor who is willing to switch you. Just explain that after a few months on the suboxone, you developed a bad stomach ache and whatever associated symptoms you can make up (like nausea, heartburn...) and someone should do it for you. Explain that you current doctor is unwilling to let you take subutex for maintenace therapy but you know someone who has had the same problem with suboxone and was fine when he switched to subutex. Good luck, man. Sorry for da long post

Whe nI asked for subutex it was over the phone and I told him about my liver enzymes being slightly high and the slight WD's I feld....finally he was like well, I can detox you, and I said "if that's you think..you're the doctor" and then he says (he needs the business) "well that's up to you" and I said "if it were up to me I'd take subutex...I may just have to find a new doctor" so he was like "OK...no problem, whe ndo you want to come in? I was like ASAP and that was taht...300 little subutex.

Damn, well bad news and good news sounds like my case here, I'm hopeing the heck that when I go see my sub doc asap this week and he sets up a test at the hospital and I get tested for my stomach pain that it gets determined that it definately is the suboxone causing this. Just wish me luck everyone that my sub doc would be finally maybe willing to switch me to subutex instead because it worked way better back when I was on subutex in my first rehab anyway. But if he still wont switch me I'm shit out of luck with having to search for another bupe doc or go to the methadone clinic because I'm going to be on maintenance for a long time and will be back on vicodin in a heartbeat if I can't get on the right maintenance program. Sorry for my rant everyone, but today is sure a painful day, woke up and had to take two 200mg tagamets my stomach hurt so bad, I just dosed my first sub of the day too and its kind of a painkiller of the pain as it is but the thing that sucks about that is since there is pain to kill, I'm not getting about near the buzz I even get from sub anyway. By the way do you all think it would be hard to find another bupe doc in my area who would put me on subutex only? does anyone think that by chance my current sub doc might change his mind and switch me to subutex only, if it is the suboxone causing my problems? and even if he just switched me to sub only, I hope to god that he wouldn't try to make me take naloxone too, but no I dont think he'd do that, because I think the naloxone is the problem in the first place. I got sick as hell back in my first rehab when they took me off the subutex and then sent me home on naltrexone. It took me a week just for my stomach to feel ok and my appetite to come back and another week for the wd's to go away, what a waste that weeklong rehab was. Gee I miss those days though, because 2 weeks after I got out of rehab, my mom went on vacation way far away, I had one or more refills online still of my vicodin and as soon as she left I went right online and ordered away. Keep in mind it had been 2 weeks since I had my last naltrexone dose. I was so darn happy when my 120 buddies arrived that I instantly took just one pill just to be safe. You know the strange thing was though, even though I was on that naltrexone etc in rehab, it did nothing to my tolerance level. I sat there for an hour after taking just 1 vicodin 10/500, it just gave me a light buzz, so I took my usual 5 more at once that I was used to taking before I went into rehab and I got the same buzz as before but it was not quite as good as before and all through the week of my fun with those 120 vicodin, I ended up with a sudden higher tolerance, I was up to taking 6 or 7 at once to get a nice buzz. Boy am I sitting here craving a buzz. I wish I could just run down the street and find a pile of the highest dose oxycontins. Well wish me luck everyone that I get put on the same dose of subutex as the suboxone I'm currently on. Heck I might really feel better then, only downside would be I would not snort them because I hate stuff up my nose and I would not bother with the needle either because can't stand a needle in my arm either, thank god for pills to swallow that you dont have to inject only.
