i am potentiating and always the same thing happens they dont work after a little while and i take more and it works but did not know if there was a 100 mg/day limit or something ya digg???
ijust really dont wanna hurt my self when all i have to do is increase my opiate dosage

I know of no dosage limit, but personal, I'd just increase my opiate dosage.
Potenators only do so much, in my opinion.

Strikks - I third the "use more opiate" idea. SWIM has given patients in the hospital promethazine in an IV drip, 50 mg over an 8 hour period. That makes 150 mg for a 24 hour dose. Of course there it's being used to treat nausea.
I have also shot up 25 mg at a whack to potentiate. Burned like crazy as I recall, and I got a damn clot in that vein.
Bottom line, I do not know / have not heard of a ceiling, but I'd be worried about side effects if using more than 50 at a time.

yes, Cimetidine and WGFJ are going to help out tons more than Phenergan. I personally wouldn't take more of that than 50mg/day, spread waaaay apart. IMO, that shit just makes me too drowsy and the WORST cotton mouth I've ever had.

I don't know about promethazine but I'v gotten sick as fuck

from too much anti-histimine like stuff. Specifically the stuff

in Tussionex cough syrup. Real bad trip.

thanx everyone!! swim's doc prescribed prometh to him for nausea and i take like 75-100mgs with my dose of morphine to potentiate, and it works awesome, but only for a day or two then the tolerance builds and that is when i want to increase it but i will definatly try WGJ that other thing mentioned above once again thank you very much!

old thread, but I just wanted to warn those of you using promethazine that it can be dangerous to IV. In fact, i think I saw somewhere that if you do choose to inject it, to dilute it plenty and push it slowly because it can cause really bad clots and even lead to having to get fingers and hands and stuff amputated.

I thought it was bunk, but i didn't try it, and seeing poppylvr's post makes me think i'm just gonna stick to wgfj an tagamet

promethazine, to me at least, is rather useless in the sense that first off it is non-narcotic, and second, it really doesn't seem to *potentiate* in the true sense, rather it adds that element of tiredness and lethargy, so that combined with the "opiated" feeling you have already, the Phenergan will make it seem like you are nodding a little harder than if you had taken the opiate alone.

except if that opiate is diesel (heroin)-- in that case u don't need a potentiator!!!

by the way, rxlist says the upper limit of safety as far as how much promethazine u can take in one 24 hour period is: 25 or 50mg (tabs or liquid) taken two to three times daily, up to a maximum daily dose of around 100mg...

i hear that Eleusis; i never really had any luck with tagamet, although i must say the grapefruit juice was noticeable...some people swear that it has to be "white" grapefruit juice, but i tried that and the "Ruby Red" kind, and honestly, they were exactly the same...


your right, too, cause i'm sure the promethazine feeds off the narcotic and vice versa and they probably end up blending together into a new feeling...

the couple times i tried it, it was only 25mg and i didnt feel anything, maybe i would have had better luck with 50mg or maybe 75?

funny anecdote, speaking of promethazine--> recently in my neck of the woods, high school kids were busted at school for selling phenergan w/ codeine syrup (the infamous "sizzurp") to other kids at lunch time...the local paper made a stink, referring to codeine as a "dangerous narcotic as lethal as morphine," promethazine as "a heavy duty sedative," and also saying how "children listen to gangster rap talking about copious drug use, and they want to emulate these guys..." The article went on to say how "gangster rap" as they dubbed it should be censored and blah blah blah, you know the deal! What I found pretty ridiculous about the whole incident was not only the fact the kids in question were arrested for "possession of a controlled substance," but that the principal, the school district, the newspaper--> all of these sources never once said that the kids were being irresponsible for selling and drinking it in school. Somehow the responsibility part was skipped over, and they went right to blaming rap music, of all things, for the reason these kids were doing what they were doing...Nice try.

yeah i agree w. ya. when i had it like i was telling you, it did little in the way of potentiation, but i could definitely see how it is used as a sedative sometimes, b/c even at that small dose i tried, when it kicked in, i was "hit" in the sense that i got real tired, real quick, u know?? plus, it felt like a really strong dose of some anti-allergy med too...i didn't really like it at all, to be honest

yeah, but if not for gfj, we'd have a lot less nutrients. perhaps the way it works is that it makes you more healthy, and since healthy is the opposite of sick it feels better. or maybe a healthy person can get off more easily than a malnourished one... or maybe it works, but only in those of us with a low enough tolerance. maybe if i blindly speculate enough, i'll stumble upon the truth...

nice, but too bad grapefruit juice has absolutely nothing to do with what you wrote, w/ regards to potentiation...it supposedly works by inhibiting a certain enzyme that helps in the metabolism of the opiate.
