Tramadol and cocaine

There are always dangers of OD, etc. But my question is are there any known interactions between cocaine and tramadol. SWIM has been using tramadol at 200-400 mg a day for about a year with no ill consequences aside from some dependence. SWIM uses cocaine about once a year. Swim has used Tramadol with dextroamphetamine without any ill effects. Any thought, info is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

I know you asked about trams, but my experiences with hydrocodone and coke have been horrible. coke kills the opiate buzz and you're fuckered, then puking. if i'm doing a stim with opies, its gonna be pharmaceudical, ie adderall, dex...

That's the exact same combo that was ruled as the cause of death for Ol' Dirty Bastard. Never heard anything about it specifically being a dangerous combo, but that doesn't mean that it's not. Be careful.

im not positive but isn't that called speed-balling when you mix coke with OC? would it be the same idea with the tram? im not to common with tram but I've heard they are kinda close to same affect. YES NO?
if it were me and im doing something called speed-balling..i would be cautious about it and start off slow.

I would like to hear from someone who knows for sure....tramadol is know for potential seizures, but combined with coke....sounds like a seizure waiting to happen.

yeah, the whole seizure thing would be my primary concern with this combo. tramadol is known to lower your seizure threshold (or make it more likely for you to have one if you're already prone). and i don't know how you do your coke, or how excessive you are about it. i know that i won't do coke unless i can shoot it, and it's barely worth my time even then unless i keep trying to get as close as i can to the "bellringer" hit that just borders on overdose. cocaine OD will result in seizures, so i think it's fair to assume that coke itself probably lowers your seizure threshold some.

if you are a sensible person, and rail normal lines of coke without going apeshit gooney-bird gonzo on it, and if you take a moderate dose of tramadol... you'll probably be fine. it might even be a decent combo if you're into trams (i can't stand 'em anymore.... but that's my personal thing). but none of us can really tell you for sure, dude... it's all a crapshoot in this game, in some way. enjoy, and play safe!

This is not an advisable combo. Tramadol has some SNRI effects meaning it inhibits norepinephrine. Cocaine, while mainly a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, does have norepinephrine/serotonin inhibition as well.

Combining these two can cause seizures, or even worse, possible serotonin syndrome, which is not fun, and can be deadly.

I'm going to have to agree with most here...I can not see any good from mixing these two things. Trams are already a tad speedy (first three hours or so anyways) like Nate said, it's just a seizure waiting to happen.

Now, IME, when hitting that nasty comedown from coke, a few hydros always seemed to help those damn coke jitters, but that wouldn't really be a combo, more a before and after.

So, yeah...I wouldn't tempt that seizure threshold with those two substances, and I would think that the anxiety/paranoia from that combo would be near unbearable.

Thanks for the replies and info. SWIM is aware of all the before mentioned information and appreciates the concern. SWIM never shoots up, and is always sensible with dosing. If the effect is felt, then its enough. SWIM tried very low doses with no ill effects but as mentioned before SWIM is used to tram and experienced coke and psuedo-speedballing (speedballing is usually defined as shooting a combo of heroin and coke) using pod tea and stimulants. SWIM is not prone to seizures or any other medical conditions, but that doesnt mean that if you are in the same shape you will come out unharmed. Know your body, substance and source. Cheers

Your friend should be okay (it's been tried before by a *cough* reliable source) just tell him/her to be careful and not overdo it with either one, ya know? But coke and oxy, or coke and H, now we're talking sweet dreams!
