View Full Version : Enzyme for Vyvanse?

I UTSE and came up w/3 threads about Vyvanse, or Lisdexamfetamine, and none of them had any information about which enzyme is involved in metabolising the Lisdex. into the goods, the d-amp.

I have 2 questions:

1. is it proper etiquette to bump one of the aforementioned threads and change the direction a bit in order to answer my question, or start a new thread like i have done? I have wondered about this for some time now and have not quite been able to figure out which method you guys prefer.

(I've been here long enough to know better, and i know i can't keep using the "newbie excuse" to break rules, but this is my first message board experience so i appreciate you guys schooling me with patience.)

2. My second question is obviously the one about the Lisdexamfetamine. I have been recently diagnosed with ADHD, and because the Shire drug rep. had just left the office, the DR. gave me these Vyvanse, by way of free sample (I shouldn't ignore the fact that the pharm rep most likely had a substantial influence on my Dr.'s diagnosis in the first place).

Alright, so we know that it is a pro-drug for the d-amp., and that it is bonded via a peptide bond to l-lysine. Does anyone have any idea which enzyme would be responsible for metabolizing the lisdexamfetamine, and in turn, releasing the precious d-amp from that annoying amino acid l-lysine? And if anyone does know the enzyme, what measures could be taken to increase the amount of it in the stomach?

Anybody got any idea on this one? I know there are at least a few people here who know their shit about this kind of stuff.

When I first got the Vyvanse I was thiniking of trying to put lemon juice or something acidic on them to maybe do something to the bond or help it along, but i think that was some flawed logic on my part.

Anyone?

this is a tough one. there are so many threads started yours might get buried, so bumping it may feel like the best option. it wont kill the world if you bump it once. but if noone answers that usually means noone knows the answer, . especially if there is any complex chemistry involved. there's nothing out of line or inappropriate regarding your questions so if noone replies its a safe bet that noone knows the answer. there is a limited amount of ppl that can answer more complex questions such as the enzyme metabolization (if i said that right)

there are a few people that i know of here that do know quite abit about this kinda stuff so maybe they will see this thread.

when in doubt, add to another thread thats already been started about the substance you wanna know more about
good questions! hope you find the info you need. wish i could help. there are some smart cookies here so just hope they'll find this thread\

i'm gonna go piss in the back yard

Oh shit--I really enjoy reading your posts but I'm going to have to stop because I'm going to pass out every time I see your avatar. I'm hyperventilating right now, breathe, go to your happy place, go to your happy place, what was wrong with the picture of that guy's ass?

That was no guy! I'll change the spider soon, i don't want to deprive you from my brilliant posts! ;)

Funny story about that avatar though. . .I have been seeing all of those commercials lately for the new yuppie speed, Diet Pepsi Max, and i saw a cold can of it in the local liquor store on my daily trip for smokes. I am partial to soda in a can so i bought one to give it a try.

2 hours later: I'm half-way through the can and i pick it up for a slam when. . .AHAHAHAHAH!! A little house spider is on the top of the can, right over the fucking mouth hole!!! I hate spiders so it freaked me out and i threw the can.

Anyway, my buddy was saying that those little white house-spiders like to suck our blood and they usually sit on us while we sleep and indulge. Needless to say, i was not buying it, if it *was* true, i could never sleep again, well it would take a good nod anyway.

So i went to Google and checked around for blood sucking house-spiders in the Midwest and couldn't find anything but i ran into that sweet picture. The spider that was on my drink was the same shape, just much smaller and whiteish/clearish looking. I like that spider in the pic. . .as long as it's in the pic.

This is what I could find: to break up into l-lysine and dextroamphetamine, it's hydrolyzed. It's not metabolized by the CYP isoenzymes, so Tagamet and stuff won't have an effect. You probably already know both these things, and what implications they may have is over my head. There's a bit of discussion on bluelight of using an acid, but it doesn't really go anywhere. Some people say it's pretty recreational anyway... it did get put in Schedule II... have you tried it?

Yeah, I was thinking on those same lines, just wondering if someone here has some education on this type of thing so i can find out for sure how to do it.

I have taken them a couple of times, the first time was on an empty stomach and it made me sick. I ended up actually vomiting about an hour after ingestion. I can't say for sure that it was the only factor in the vomiting, and when i took it again i ate something about an hour before, and felt fine.

They do work, and I'm not *really* looking for 'recreational' use out of them. It' just that they really work TOO WELL, that is to say the pro-drug design works very well and the d-amp is time released way too efficiently. I take a 70mg and the concentration in my blood is supposed to reach peak levels about 3 and a half hours later and feels like less than 20mg of IR adderall, at the most.

My roommate is scripted 60 30's of Adderall IR tabs each month and he only needs about 30 of them so. . .for school, I have been buying some off him and have become accustomed to the fast energy I get with them, on demand. With my daily 'done dose, it is hard to read and concentrate a lot of the time without starting to fall asleep. . .I'm not nodding all day by any means, but when i get to reading, i have a hard time staying awake without the help of something. The Vyvanse do work, just not as well as i would like them to, and it seems that the peptide bond would not be too hard to manipulate, turning them into a much more useful tool for me.

A bit off topic but. . .does anyone else have a hard time reading when their opiated? Not nodding out, but opiated with energy, and when you start to read, your eyes just want to close on you? I have thought about this and i have a theory: Maybe, for me at least, because i'm opiated daily and my pupils are permanently pinned (you sometimes can't even find them in my dark brown eyes), My eyes just can't see the print very well, so i start to get blurry and end up just closing my eyes and nodding. Anyone know if there's any validity to this theory?
