I have in the past gone into an ER complaining of a Kidney Stone to get my fix. All you have to do is tell the doc you have a kidney stone. Any time you say you have a kidney stone in ER you will be asked to take a piss test. All you have to do is take a lancer or a safety pin with you and after you piss prick your finger and drop a small amout of blood in the urine test and you have an instant kidney stone. That has always worked for me in the past to get a shot of dilly of Mepergan. Always go to the ER Friday evening and tell the doc you have an appointment with your urologist the following Monday. That trick has never failed for me. It's worth a try if you start getting dope sick.:sick2:

This is kind of disgusting, but women can pass the urinalysis during their "time of the month" without having to lance or poke anything. BTW, I didn't have this happen on purpose. I really did have a stone, but not an infection. (that came later)

I just take the W/D's and tough them out. Fuck it! It sucks, it hurts, it's uncomfortable... but I'm not 19 any more. I know real pain and suffereing. It's all about perspective people. If you take some guy who's spent the last 20 years in the hole for a crime he did not commit and tell him he is going to have to endure some opiate withdrawals in the comfort of his own home... He would be absolutely delighted to do it!!! I say, imagine that is you. I say we should all think about our forfathers and how they had it in the middle ages, with drought, famine, plague, evil rulers, everything!!! Having to endure the opiate withdrawals in the comfort of your own American homes is NOT suffering. It's a little discomfort. That is all it is, a little discomfort. In fact, if you have to, you can go shovel 6 inches of snow from your property, because I did it last week. I sweated, I suffered, I pushed myself... and the snow got moved!
Can you all imagine what it must have been like in the Middle Ages for prisoners? Come on? We have it great!!!

You know....its assholes like the OP who fake a Kidney stone that make it hard for the rest of us when we go in with a piece of sand stuck in our vagina. Do you have any idea how irritating it is to have a REAL piece of sand stuck in your vagina. Wahh waaah wahhh my vagina hurts.

sand in the vagina? I love the beach... never had that problem. :)
BUT I DO seriously have a kidney stone that won't pass... I piss blood daily... and if some asshole was in line in front of me in the ER faking one when mine does decide to pass.. I'll kick some serious ass.

I hear ya. Whenever I am on a legit trip to the ER I always scan the room and play a game of 'spot the seeker'. Then I get pissed when they get called in before me out of fear that the doc will be at his/her wits end by the time I get in there.

Well let me just throw in my two cents here. I used to do this a lot (before I actually got sick) to get meds... if you are going to fake a kidney stone for meds... call a doctor (any doctor will do) and get in for an appointment. Don't go to the ER!
Every time I would do this at the ER, they would start with the urine test. If there was blood in the urine, they would then do a CT... and of course, would not find a kidney stone. They would then write it off as a urinary tract infection and MAYBE send you off with some crap like Darvocet.
Now, the doctor's office does not have CT equipment... so they will do the urine dip, see blood, and assume you have a kidney stone. Even if it's a doc that doesn't like to prescribe narcotics, they know that kidney stones are painful and will at least give you percocet or something.
If you go to a general practioner, they are just going to send you home with the meds... they would only refer you to a urologist if the stones were persistent. For one, they will give you the meds and send you on your way.
I used to do this when I was 18... before I got sick... so I just thought I would pass on my knowledge.

i actually WAS passing a kidney stone, but with no blood in my urine. end result was an IV with: 1 torodol(sp? lol), 2 hydromorphone shots, 6 morphine shots, script for 20 perc 5's
kinda funny, actually. aside from the pain that made me want to die. i knew i was going to pass stones sometime after i had a CT done for an unrelated reason, and for shits n giggles the doc pointed out 2 stones in my left kidney. when i expressed concern, he said they were small enough to pass no problem...blah blahblah and carried on with whatever.
5 months later, they sure felt like a fucking problem...

I have never posted anything negative on this board. I bet most people on this board have done things to gets opiates when you are dopesick. The ER visit happened over 15 years ago. I was in no way trying to post anything negative or to offend someone, but if you want to flame me go ahead. I just hope you can take being flamed back.

He wasn't saying that he was going to flame you, he was saying that some of the Chronic Pain Patients on this board were going to flame you for being a drug seeker and making it difficult for them to get pain meds for legit pain, as they sometimes do to people who fake pain to get drugs.
Don't be so hostile, bud.

I realy apologize for my port mentioned here. The ER story was just to back up how when I did go to a doc and get something for pain all of the sudden my doc thought I was just just trying to get a script for pain meds when all I was doing was trying to get relief from knee injury I received when I was in a bad auto accident. Even with all the MRI's and Xrays showing where i had shattered my knee. I was 30 years old walking with the cane because my knee was extremely painful. I had torn ligaments as well and had a total of 5 surgeries to finally geing able to walk without extreme pain every day . If I offended anyone it was not in anyway deliberate. I apologize if it was taken that way. It won't happen again.

Hey GA, its' all good. :D
I've ended up at Urgent Care with (real) kidney stones and they also do not do tests beyond the urine sample looking for blood. They've sent me home with okay scripts (usually percs, 20-30, no refills).

You do not have to apologize so much, we've been there done that and the post about legit kidney stone CP patients was just a small cautionary note.

seems like there is def something to this, however, i'd think if you prick your finger and simply add a drop of your blood, which would contain WBC's the urinalysis would be confirmatory for a UTI, not kidney stones....?
In medicine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicine), hematuria (or "haematuria") is the presence of red blood cells (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_blood_cells) (erythrocytes) in the urine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urine). It is a sign (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign_%28medicine%29) that there is a kidney stone or a tumor in the ureter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ureter), urinary bladder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinary_bladder), prostate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate), or urethra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urethra). kidneys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney) and the urinary tract (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinary_tract), ranging from trivial to lethal. If white blood cells (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_blood_cells) are found in addition to red blood cells, then it is a signal of urinary tract infection.

Just know that if the Doc is even slightly suspicious you're faking, he CAN test the blood in the urine sample, nd there ARE ways of telling if it came from internal urine stream. Something to do with th amount of oxygen.
Faking kidney stones sucks because you REALLY have to act. Kidney stones are horrible, so you literally need to be screaming your ass of th entire time you're there.
If you want an "easier" complaint, just go in and tell them you were in a car wreck. Passanger side, wearng a seatbelt, struck passangerside rear panel. You were stopped in a parking lot, and the person that hit you wasn't moving faster than 10mph or so. (This is important, you don't want them calling a truama code). But tell them your side rammed into the foor handle thingy and it hurts to breathe.
Because it's so "soon" after the accident, there wouldn't be any signs of bruising. Tell them it hurts to take a deep breathe. They will suspect brken rib, send you for Xray. But even when they don't see a broken/ cracked rib, you'll be getting some narcotis. Broke ribs, unless displaced, are hard to see on an Xray. And even if it's simply bruised, i hurts the same, and the treatment for bruised or broken is the same.
Pain meds.

Man, I am having kidney stone problems right fucking now! At least i hope thats what it is? There is/was much blood in my urine. Though not every piss. When i woke up this morning all yellow.Last night b4 i went to sleep at the end of the stream much blood. Then later today much blood. I am currently on 54mgs methadone and wandering if I should go to the hosp.(broke$)and what I should tell em'. Afraid to tell em on methadne but then, what if they find out somehow and then give me nothing.
It's been three days and i been just toughing it out. Never scammed an er, I've had serious problems in the past when in real severe pain so i always figured it was a lost cause for someone like me(long red hair and beard).I am a CP patient with a broken back L4-L5 dislodged and sciattica, plus osteo-arthritis in both knees(19yrs sk8boarding hard)adding to that many broken bones cuz im not lactose intolerant, im allergic to milk. I fucking love cereal and am prone to kidney stones, however it has been a long while. Pissing blood freaks me out, if it even is kidney stones it feels similar but at the same time different. If it continues another day or two I probably will go to the er but then what should i tell em? Any pain med they give me probably won't really work will it? the M.done monster will trump it out for sure right? Should i tell em im on a extremely low dose of it, be upfront so thay might give me something stronger as they might find out anyway? I always try to be honest (cept to cops)as it is unique and the mark of maturity and stregnth, but I don't wanna keep pissing blood and feeling aaawwee fucking terrible!:(!
Sorry for the rant just kinda wondering what to do in case it does'nt go away.
As always thanks a bundle.............sg33
P.S. Hey uncle wiggely, you out there?I know you've had experience w/k-stones. Maybe you could give me some pointers, i'm worried it might be something other than stones. I've been having a lot of other health issues that may or may not be related.

Starglazer, it depends on the person, but you may get something from other opiates at only 54mg of done. I think it's around 90 mg that is the normal blocking dose for most people. Now whether to lie to the ER docs I don't know, although from everything I've read here if you mention done to the ER doc most of the time they won't prescribe any opiates.

Most ER docs are looking any legitimate reason they can find to keep from issuing pain meds. So, I can almost guarantee you that if you tell them about it being on methadone, they will deny you any other meds.
I've told this story before, in response to this very same question, so I won't bore you with the details. But, I cut my forearm really bad one time on a broken porcelain soap dish. Severed an artery, and blood was everywhere. They had to take into the ER on an ambulance, because I couldn't drive. Once they got me in there, and I told them I was on pain meds for a bad back, that was it. They gave me nothing for the pain. Not a shot, a pill, nada. The fucker started sewing me up, and the numbness wore off.. he told me that he was just about done. He sewed another 15 minutes and I could feel everything. I was fit to be tied. The fucker!
I wish you luck and hope that you get to feeling better soon. I know the grueling monotonousness of kidney stone pain all too well. I don't have them near as bad as Uncle Wiggly, but I swear, I think I'd rather suffer just about anything rather than a frickin' kidney stone. Just go in and don't say anything about the methadone, and you should be good. Most ER docs sympathize with how bad it hurts and will help you out. As long as you keep your mouth shut about the 'done.
Good luck and take care!
Uncle Wiggly

Hey SG, If you're having gross hematuria (visible blood in your urine) and abdominal/flank pain, you need to have a doc check you out. Just having blood by itself means something isn't right. Just go to the ER, don't say anything about the Methadone. They'll probably give you an IVP. Intravenous Pyelogram. It's no big deal. They put an IV line in your arm then inject some special dye in your bloodstream. This dye will enable them to visualize your kidneys, ureters and bladder via X-Ray. They will keep taking X-Rays of you every so many minutes and will be able to see the dye as it travels from you kidneys to your bladder. This is all fairly painless(the only part that even hurts is getting the IV in your arm) and takes about an hour for the test.
Don't worry about the money, yeah I know it's easy for me to say, you've got something going on and you need to make sure the plumbing is in good working order. :D The reason I said not to mention the Methadone is the same as RD said. Plus I was on Methadone for a long time and it's not very effective for kidney stone pain. PM me if you've got any questions.
