I've been trying to find a doc that will prescribe bupe but so far no luck.
I called the closest docs on the samhsa list of bup doctors in my area and the first two work at this rehab place so I call the place and the girl won't even tell me if they have bupe maintenance but she wants me to fill out an intake form so I hung up on her. they also lie on the samsha search saying they provide methadone maintenance when they only do the 21 day methadone detox. fuck that place.
so I need to know a few things. is bupe realllly expensive? I'm trying to get insurance but if I can't how much is this stuff going to prolly cost?

P.Kid, Honestly, I dont know how people afford this shit without insurance. Not to mention the fact that you have to pay for your doc visits on top of that EVERY MONTH!!! I payed 550.00$ first initial consultation fee, then 125 a visit every month. If my bup wasnt covered by my insurance, theres no way I could afford to be on this shit. I think my 1st fill of suboxone was close to 300 dollars. That is 2 8mg pills for 1 month. Shit is expensive, if you are trying to get insurance right now, DO IT!!! its the shiznit, otherwise, its almost not worth it. I mean the stuff really helped me out, but I am almost as broke now as I was when I was using tar every day, LOL, thats all I can do is laugh about it. Im pretty sure your a couple of states away from me so I cant help you out with the doc situation, but they should be able to tell you about being able to presricbe bup or not. That form filling out thing sounds like BS. They either issue bup or not, I dont know why they are giving you the run-around.

I live in Northern Virginia. I have a pretty good doc. He has put me on subutex maintenance because I had problems with suboxone - it really was not as potent and it gave me wicked heartburn (the artificial orange flavor) - and he also likes to write prescriptions for ambien, lunesta, sonata, and even asked me recently, "doo yoo wan precription for some stimulant?" (he's Chinese) b/c I said the bupe was making me a little too drowsy during the daytime. I turned him down on the stimulant, but I think I migh revisit that - maybe some cylert or something. I don't want something real strong, like dexedrine or ritalin, but cylert would be about right, as long as I had something to come down on...

About the price of bupe, it IS is expensive. Even with insurance, I pay $99.00 for my 35 tablets of 8mg subutex every two weeks. My doctor makes me come in for an appt. every two weeks. It's only like for 15 minutes - he says, "you o.k.?" and "you need some ambien or someting?" and "o.k., you take-a subutex, right?" and I say "yes, please." He gives the script or scripts and then hands me a receipt, then I go out to the receptionist and pay $75 for the visit. It's a RACKET!

So, even with my expensive insurance, it's $200 month for the subutex and $150 in doctor fees. That comes out to about $50 less per month than my outrageous kratom and pod habit was at the end.

I don't submit the doctor visits to my insurance, b/c I don't want to get on the list of drug addicts. I DO put the medication on my insurance, which means I gotta pay 50% of it, and I could say I am taking it for pain if I have to. The doctor visit would have the diagnosis code for "opioid dependence" on it, so I don't put that one in...

Without insurance, all in all, it would be $550 per month (for everything) instead of $350 a month that I pay right now. Fuck! That's a car payment. I could have an extra car!

Damn dope! Why'd I go and get hooked?

I heard my friend ended up paying $180 for a 30 pill script. at those prices it pays to stay an illegal addict.

yeah P.K., I paid $140 for a 18 pill script the first time i did the Subutex detox. Needless to say, I'm back at my pain clinic where I get my 120 Lortab 10's and 60 Percolones (oxycodone 5mg) a month for $10. I may be a drug addict, but it's cheaper for me to do what I'm doing now than to do Subutex/Suboxone maintenance.

I pay between $350-600 a month [depending on dosage], I have been with this doctor for 3.5 years. I get amphetamines, benzos, and whatever I want scripted. If I pay in cash I get a discount, she is shady but works for me. Tends to keep me off the needle at times.

At this point I'm beginning to think that even though my chronic pain and other issues are completely legitimate, that I'd be better off with a "dirty" doc than a straight-laced one. I have one of the best docs in the region (New England) yet no matter how bad my pain gets, he just scripts me the same insufficient stuff and I have to continue supplementing with poppies, MJ, whatever I can get my hands on.

It's a pathetic situation.

Cylert (Pemoline) was pulled off the market a while ago I think. It causes alot of problems to the body, including liver damage. I never got to try it maybe you could ask for Focalin or something. Methylphenidate isn't that bad. I prefer it to amphetamine of any type because it's not so strong. Yah anyways, i'm not trying to be a jackass I just wanted to inform you and anyone who reads it that Cylert is no longer available. They pulled Adderall XR off the market in Canada for about a year saying it caused heart problems, but still kept Dexedrine SR and Adderall instant release formulations on the market. It was the stupidest thing i'd ever heard. How can you take Adderall extended release off the market but leave the instant release pills on the market? Considering it's the same fucking drug from the same company!!!! Silly fucking Canadians. Sometimes I wonder about my government.Theres actually an interesting smart drug/stimulant available called Provigil or something. I think the actual drug in Provigil is Modafinil, it is a newer stimulant used for people who have trouble staying awake and alert during the day. It's not super recreational, it'ssupposed to be fairly mild but apparently it has some pleasant effects noticeably different from amphetamines or methylphenidates. It's supposed to be not speedy, yet you feel alert, and awake and clear headed ( Or so i've heard ) this is purely just hearsay though so I don't really know. It could be something to look into though. Oh and yah Subuxone is a rip off. You Americans pay up the ass for medication. It's really sad to see that, because we get the same medication for alot less. In many cases your medication comes from Canada and other countries, where it's sold for a tiny fraction of what American citizens end up paying. It's disgusting that this can go on. A bottle of 120 percocet costs 14$ here. Birth control is 3$ a month, Methadone is 200$ a month for 240mg a day habit, so if you have a dose of 120mg or so it's only 100$ or something. For 200$ you get two 300ml bottles of 10mg/ml done. For Prozac I pay something like 20$ a month for 40mg per day. Prednisone is 10 bucks for a months supply. It's just ridiculous that you all pay so much. Someone should lower the cost of medication for Americans. Pain medicine costs a fuckload down there. Oxy's cost an arm and a leg and fentanyl patches, or actiq's dont even get me started, we're talking thousands of dollars a month for some Oxycontin and Actiq lozenges it's sickening. Anyways, sorry for that long winded response, peace to all my opiophile homies. haha take care everyone, be safe and watch your doses, so you can live another day and get high again.
