I Cant Get High!!

i was taking metadone for like two or three weeks @ 50-70 mg./day. i stopped taking it like 5 days ago and between last night and this morning i did an 80 mg. oxy, 40 last night and 40 this morning, and I COULDNT GET HIGH! Either Time!! Can some one tell me whats going on, and how could maybe get on again? thanx.

SWIM too cant get high anymore. He takes 150mg morphine + 250mg quite good heroin and it doesnt feel much different than without. Well. It feels different when hes 12 hours without opies though. LOL

I think, to get high again you must take a longer break. Try to wait until you feel bad and ten take your stuff.

SWIM will try to lower his tolerance and make longer breaks between sniffing / taking the pills. Hope that will help.

I think its to do with the methadone, it occupies the opiate receptors, so when the smack or morphine hits the brain it can't bond to the receptors becuase they are being occoupied by the meth. Meth has a long half life so it must still be floating about there in your receptors. I suppose its like when you hear that smackheads( no offence 2 anyone) when they fix up the smack has no effect or little when they are on methadone.

Props man. Yes , methadone has a huguemungous half life and takes a really, really long time to clear your system. two things you were doing. One, you were raising your tolorance by taking the methadone. The shit is ultra powerful compared to other opiates and how it reacts with your receptors.Two, you were clogging your receptors with an agonist/antagonist combo. Wait another three or four days and you'll get off. Being that you were only on it for a few weeks it shouldnt take too long to clear out, but, everybodies different. Being that you were taking such a high dose(Iknow, not compared to some) it will take some adjusting. Omega suppliments help out with this alot, at least it did in my case and I was on the juice for three years. Topped out at 95, and took the leap at 45mgs. Alot of things need to replenish themselves and the only thing for that is time.

I have to mention that as a 'smackhead' on a daily methadone (supposedly maintainence?) script, who continues to use heroin (on occasion!) on top of the aforementioned script, that whilst I may not get the full oooooomph of the heroin, I most certainly still get an effect (is that right GMorris?) from it, which (unfortunately?!) is strong enough for me to keep on chasing that ultimate high which us junkies crave. You all know the one I mean!

PS By the way no offence taken whatsoever over your use of the term 'smackhead' as a description for heroin users. At the end of the day everyone knows what it means. I use it regularly to describe myself, after all its what I am!!

i find wd from poppy tea strong enough, def would'nt want to feel it coming of heroin. Just a question please Poppy. I see you live in the UK, and your on meth. I'm in Northern Ireland (UK) i've been thinking about trying to maintain or withdraw on Subutex, i have been told that it is only available to active injecting opiate addicts, (same goes for meth) could you please clear this situation up for me, is it true you have to be inject to get on a subsitute? I use alot of PT, DHC and morphine, the morphine is injected SC but i don't do it very often, not as much anyway as the other opes. Don't know if SC injections would be acceptable or taken seriously to them, because i know most of us users are mainlining drugs. I would prefere not to mention the injections to the treatment centre, cause i know once mentioned its on record for life, and there seems to be alot of ignorance here if you admit to injecting, you treated as scum. So please let me know if you think i can get subutex without telling the whole truth.
BTW thanks to these forums i can see the dangers of meth, ppl think yea it gets ya buzzed but by the experience of some unfourante victims on this forum of WOD i hope i can stay clear from it.

Johnny I didn't know about your above post till today hence the long delay in replying!!!As far as I know you don't need to be injecting, just 'active' to get meth or subutex here in the uk. I know a fair few smokers who get one or the other(meth or sub) from the clinic. Hope this helps.

I can feel as little as 2.5mg or 5mg of oxycodone while on methadone and I have been on it for years. I get a pleasant effect from one percocet ontop of 55-60mg of methadone everyday. Even when I was on more I could feel it for some reason. Everyone is different though. I can still get a buzz off of methadone everyday for some reason.

Doctors and people in general treat you like shit if they find out you are in an addiction program or addicted to drugs. I dont' even tell my doctors anything because they will treat me like i'm subhuman and turn their nose up at me. People are idiots. It's a fact. Most people are morons. Doctors are assholes. They treat drug addicted people like they are subhuman. If a doctor finds out that I am on methadone they will hold it against me and treat me like I am some street person. Yet, they will feel sorry for some guy who has heart disease from stuffing his face full of cheeseburgers for his lifetime. Apparently all we are is wastes of air cuz thats how they treat us.

I know exactly how you feel, I keep that part of my life so zipped up and locked that even I forget it sometimes. I just got a call from my sub doc stating that my bill is too high and that they will need me to pay it all off until the doc will see me again. They pulled this shit the day before my next appointment!!! I was so furious, because I told them when I first got on the program that I was going to have to make payments and they said, "No problem whatsoever." Than they pull this shit, so I called up another doc who charges 100$ a visit (instead of 145$ a visit) and he saw me that day. He couldnt believe that the other doc tried to pull that shit. Oh well, my first doc isnt going to get another fuckin cent from me for pulling that shit. Goddamn Doctos!!

It's a shitty way to live man unless you know you have a constant supply. I know it seems so out there, but in your situation, it might be better to quit for awhile and use once in awhile? Or quit? I know everyone has a diferent physiology,but 5 days clean,after 2-3 weeks on 70 odd mils.You should be able to feel dope again.If it's real oxy and you can't get high,there are really only 2 paths;take more oxy or lay off the done for longer.

Speaking one junky to another, I too am amazed at how complicated my life seems to get at times since being a junky. There is so much to know and try to keep in mind so you dont make yourself feel worse, or worse yet run out of money or gear. Me having a mental disability and being a junky too, makes it seem even 10 times worse to juggle everything and feel great at the same time, I keep getting myself messed up in some way or another. Yet on the other hand, I can't at this time seem to even want to think about cutting off my opiate use totally, I mean I suppose I could alot easier if I had plenty of benzo's on hand on the comedown, but then it would be a point to remember not to dare abuse them as I'm coming down or I'll run out time and time again like I did this time a few weeks ago when I used up a months supply of valium in 2 weeks, then got myself oversaturated and made myself feel worse instead of real good.

Wow lol the junkylife is sure one heck of a life to try to keep up with and remember everything too. I think I'll finally get everything straightened out in my head finally soon so I dont keep messing up all the time and feeling worse instead of better. One thing I keep doing is getting money saved up, then I feel real good and take too much opiates, then started mixing valium with it and made myself really feel bad. Too much of a good thing makes me feel worse, sounds like most people would react the same way if they took too much opiates.

Methadone is very strong and long lasting as we have all come to know. The problem is that after taking either methadone or suboxone, the two most popular maintenance drugs, you won't be able to feel pretty much anything from the weaker opiates. Even H or D or oxy's won't be felt for a few days after either one of these. Methadone especially raises your tolerance significantly and will be a hinderance in trying to get a buzz from something like hydrocodone.

Ironically, the only drug that I have been able to get a buzz/high from after taking suboxone is methadone. H after about 24 hours will work depending on your suboxone dose, but methadone seems to be able kick the bupe off of the receptors after about only a day. I have tried vicoden and percocet after a day or two removed from Meth or Sub, and nothing, nada.

No wonder you didn't get high. You're NOWHERE near what your tolerance requires.

duh. 50 mg is way more than 30. I'd use a converter but I get it's something near 100-120mg of oxy. 70mg maybe need 150. I dunno, though. I sniffed 80s twice when I was on 30mg and didn't get a huge buzz.

ill say it again, since im here to help....methadone DOES NOT cause cause other opiates to not work....it infacts potentiates them just like the rest. more than one opiate can work on the mu opiate receptor at a time. this agitates them and cayuses them to become active. the reason ya'll arent feeling anything is because methadone causes the biggest tolarence known to man! trust me ....i know from expirience....
