Wow! I read about this but didn't think it was really going to happen. I'm extremely interested in the results. I'm sure we all want to see H be as effective as methadone, but I'm a bit curious. I would think that, since the duration of H is so short, it would be counter-productive in a situation like this with supervised injections. With 'done they can dose once a day and be fine, but with H they will have to dose several times daily. With supervised injections this will be a pain I would think. Now, if it was take home doses of both, it would be a little more "fair".

As far as the patients enjoying the treatment, I'm sure H will come out ahead, but that's not what this is about.

Good read though. Can't wait to see the ensuing discussions. :)

Heroin maintenance wont work because of tolerance ( anyone thats been on heroin for a number of years will agree ..I have been on heroin or methadone or both 15 years or so)
Heroin maint experiments sound fishy to me..we are talking about the same people that sterilized women under the guise of tetanus vaccines, gave unsuspecting negros syphallis under the tuskegee experiments, exposed troops to nuclear blast testing to see how bad the radiation fucked them up, demolished the world trade center with explosives and drone planes and LIED and blamed it on terrorists so they can take your rights away with "patriot acts"
