October of 2009 the patent on Suboxone will come to an end. October 9th to be exact.

Does anyone have any information on what the generic will be? Who will manufacture it? Are there any pending trials at the FDA right now? Any and all information about this would be mucho helpful. Imagine how many more people we can get on subs with a generic cost (Imagine how inexpensive methadone is outside of a clinic setting)

My dendrite program will be ending right around that time. So this is working out as a blessing. I'm googling around my hardest but can't seem to find anything.

What's the word?

?? dunno about a balox/bupe generic, titan pharmecuticals should be releasing its probuphine implant around that time however, currently in FDA trials around the country. wonderful product...

That's what I forgot to ask you in your other post—what is a dendrite program? Never heard that term.

I can't find anything yet... maybe it's too early for generic drug companies to be challenging the patent (or even advertising that they're developing a generic). Don't count on a generic being available immediately after the patent expires though... sometimes it takes a few months.

It would be nice to see a generic form. Unfortunately the more costly aspect of suboxone is normally the doctors visit. With a copay for the pills it's not bad right now but once my ins. expires I would love a price cut where ever i can get it.

dendrite is where Reckit Benkeiser pays for my suboxone, it's patient assitance. It took me two years to get on it. Finally found a doctor and had to write him a letter begging. They just ship you the suboxone for free, instead of paying $6 a pill for it.

I just wish there'd be some information about a generic - if there's even one in route.

they are keeping that info about generic bupe pretty hush hush, but bupe is going to be disturbed in canada by shering-plough canada. theres no word when that will start yet, but as far as the bupe generics is pretty hush hush, they are even lagging about the new delevery system. i took a paid survey on it about 4 months ago and it was supposed to be in clinical trial allready but its not as usual. its kinda scary thinking about generic bupe, what if they fuck up bupe like teva did oxycontin?
