I've just read through the threads in this section and can't believe there isn't one devoted to the value of carisoprodol as an opiate potentiator. Maybe it's because carisoprodol and drugs containing it are being discussed right now with the intent of removing them from the market on the grounds that the benefits of this drug are outweighed by its drawbacks; several countries have already withdrawn Carisoma; but I actually find that a standard 350mg tablet helps my scripted Oxycontin to kick in nicely and the metabolisation into meprobamate, whilst not an ideal tranquilliser, helps the bad feelings the pain gives me.
Grapefruit juice potentiates triazolo-benzos more than opiates, but carisoprodol, while it lasts as an approved medicine, along with a couple of bromazepam, are the potentiators i am most likely to use with my wholly insufficient dosage of 40mg Oxycodone twice daily.

I am not sure exactly why it is a great potentiator, but I had always noticed it. I suppose soma does because it is a musco-skeletal relaxant and most likely releases some of the pleasant chemicals in the brain such as dopamine when it his the blood brain barrier.

I'd like to read a study sooner or later about it, that would be quite interesting.

I think opiates potentiate carisp. more than the other way around... the muscle relaxer usually makes me so tired combined with opiates that all I do when on them is sleep if sitting.

when I have kicked opiates in the past, soma, or robaxin are absolutely essential for me to have around so I dont relapse. I have completed few detoxes without prescription help.

I agree that carisp. is one excellent combination drug with opiates.

back when it was easy to get OTC pills from canada sent into the USA you could order robaxin/codeine pills for a great price.

but,....if you are using that stuff everyday I have found, you get pretty damn useless and accident prone.
better to have the muscle relaxers on the weekend.

mixing muscle relaxers with heroin back in my smoking days left me with holes in all my clothes, and burning holes in the backs of the cars front seats.

Yeah, my drawer of woollens would testify to the truth of that! There is definitely a propensity to gouch out a lot easier when using the mixture. The potentiation effect works a lot more strongly with heroin then with oxycodone. In fact if there's a below-par batch of smack going around then it's a good idea to have 700mg carisoprodol about half an hour before you start using the stuff in earnest. If, that is, you are one of those people who can wait that long after scoring!

For me carisoprodol is the most powerful anxiolytic drug i can take. Benzo's calm me down and all, but if i'm worrying about something i'm still gonna worry a bit. Plus benzo's last way too long for me. Carisoprodol, though i haven't had it in forever it seems, makes me not give a shit no matter what and if i let it, it knocks me out for a few hours. Plus i love the way it feels, and it seems like no matter how many i take i never get addicted.

This is usually how I feel. But I was going through my bottles of 120 very quickly. So for some reason like benzos there can b tolerance without actual addiction.
