I'm just sure I'm about to end up feeling very foolish upon finding out some detail I've overlooked in trying to do this, but recently i've noticed that I can't copy an url or snippet of external text and paste it within a message body. I'm using firefox 1.5 on Mac OS X. Any ideas?

That's weird. You know, I'm not on a Mac so I would have no idea on what to tell you. Anyone else here on a Mac that might know?

I use Safari as my web-browser for Mac OS X 10.4.5, and what I do (and have done so recently on this board in a PM), is just copy the text or URL to my desktop and then paste it in the document. If it's a URL it should show up as a link in the message or post, but it will not be a link in the page you're actually typing in. Hope this helped and didn't confuse you further....

Edit: whoops, didn't see at first that the OP is 3 weeks old....the problem is prolly already rectified. Oh, well....

I use Macs pretty much exclusively and I can't think of any reason for that!
Do you have the same problem in Safari? All I can think of is some weird Firefox/Aqua interaction bug....

Strange.
Thanks for your replies.
For whatever reason, it's not a problem anymore. I just tested it.
Believe me, though, I really did try a number of things before, and just couldn't get it to work!
I think I've upgraded firefox since then, though...
But anyway, thanks.

Either way, glad it was resolved - thanks, everybody, for pitching in to help out...
