I started a thread in the papaver somniferum forum called "watering" and it got moved. When I click on it to see where it got moved to it says that I do not have access, so I am assuming it got moved to one of the papaver sub-forums I don't yet have access to. I sent a message to the admins through that error message asking what I could do and didn't get an answer. So I sent another message to Brony I think it was and still haven't gotten an answer.
I don't mean to be a pain in the ass and apologize, i just really want some feed back on waterin g my plants. I also want to know if I can get access so I can see my thread or even just a response saying no way, sorry you have to wait. That would be fine, I just want to know. I understand you guys are very busy so I thought maybe posting here would make it easier and maybe somebody else could respond.
Thanks a lot,
Mollywopped
Edit: I just reread the rules of this forum so I apologize for this title of this thread,I just didn't know how to say it in the space allowed.

sorry to tell you that the restricted forums require that you've been a member for 90 days. but i really wouldn't worry about watering poppies too much. i'm no gardener, but from everything i hear, these plants are quite hardy outdoors, and can live through a lot. perhaps someone with some experience in this area will come along to say how often they need watering where you're at.

i\'m certain this info can be found on google. Almost every description of plants says if it likes dry or wet conditions. Use that to determine how much you water.

keep the soil moist at all times, don't flood the soil or you'll get root rot. sandy soil, lotsa sun, cold climate.

What I'm trying to find out though, is how much to water BEFORE they germinate? I sowed the seeds about a week ago and have been giveing the soil a little soaking twice per day. Everything else is around and I have found it, but I can't find anywhere that specifically gives that info.
BTW, is there any way to tell exactly when you signed up? It seems to me I have been a member for awhile, but the date under my name says Nov 2007, I am just curious as to if it was the 1st of Nov or the 30th, ya know?

just a friendly reminder (don't know how close you are to your 90 day mark) but for $9.95 the papa somniver section will love you long time. -- about six months.

Your not going to get a better answer than what WC gave ya. I think your thinking too much about this. Just keep the soil moist, and they'll be fine.

Yes, moist soil is good, provided it is the sandy type and not the waterlogged clay kind, we get them both down here. I am near the beach and have the sandy kind so drainage is never a problem.
I noticed my self seeded poppies are sprouting, they are in almost full sun, the ground is damp from the rain, I have never watered them.
You might want to try a few in peat pots and different locations in the yard if you have that option. I usually do that with Tomato plants because, if some don't do good in one spot, others will do ok somewhere else.

I paid off all of my credit cards and canceled them. And I am getting paid in cash these days so i hardly ever go to the bank, making my debit card pretty much useless.

Thanks, but I will wait my turn like everybody else. But, if you could go to the papaver forum and find the thread called "watering" from about a week ago and tell me if there is any good info on how much water to give the seeds to help them germinate and then how much when they sprout, I would be very very appreciative.

Just read the thread, everyone says the same thing WC says here. You're not missing anything.
