Herniated Disc? please help

I woke up this morning and get a tingling in my left arm and hand. All week my neck and back has been aching and stiff. Any thoughts? plz respond

In regards to your herniated disc, what is happening is caused by pressure from the herniated disc. Pressure is put on the nerve root or spinal cord. Pain, numbness and tingling occurr in the area of the body affected by the nerve such as with sciatica.

Other than seeing your doc, bed rest, antiinflammatories(Motrin,Advil, Ibuprofen, Naprosyn also called Naproxen) will help reduce inflammation and help with the pain.

Are you on any pain meds? You can also try to apply some heat/cold. Applying cold for 20 mins followed by heat for 20 mins. will help reduce the inflammation and relax the muscles.
I would avoid anything strenuous at all and just relax in bed if you can. What I meant by strenuous was to just avoid bending, doing chores around the house, anything that might aggravate your injury even further.

herniated discs are so bad. A friend was on the patch, OxyFast, lollipops, hydro, percs...for a long time. He's down to only vic's now but it was no fun. It concluded with a surgery where they put a rod all the way through his spine with cages between each vertabrae.

Go to the drugstore, Get a traction Harness it fits around your jaw you fill the bag withwater and hang it on the door. just sit and watch tv for a halfhour or so and it will help to release the pressure off your nerves also get a moist pack that you can put in the microwave they sell them that fit around your neck really good. Alternate with ice. every 20 minns or so. if you want pm me amd i will give you my phone #. And em address. I might be able to help you further let me know. I have 6 cervical herniations and i know whats this is al about.

That's the same symptoms I had before I was diagnosed w/ 3 herniated discs. 2 years later and after trying a bunch of different medications, I'm on 20/200mg hydrocodone/APAP sustained-release (custom compounded by a awesome pain specialist) with Roxicodone Intensol for breakthrough pain.

i have a herniated disc my doc gave me fentanyl 50 mcg/h now 180 methadone and 80 mg oxycoiton i go for an mri this monday .fentanyl is very costly so is the oxy's meth is :) dirt cheap

I didn't mean like that, just as an excuse to get some stronger shit...don't mean to offend people with some legit problems, i thank god that im not doubled over in pain...sorry exit wound. Im probably the guy thats ruining the docs reputation, but i figure im a good liar:D

I know how it feels to be in pain im 25 and had three back surg. and im about to have a another one the only thing that works foe me is narcs. plus i just love to get high im takeing perks vicks soma amben when i can get them perscribed but i always run out early that sucks consitering i dont have any connects on street opeits...im new to fl and dnt know anyone near st. augustine area... ?????

Hey, I don't hold a grudge against somebody looking for a better quality of life no matter what the reason is. Prohibition is bullshit and people should be able to self-medicate even if they're not in the kind of horrible pain I go through every day. But I'm a bit sensitive about the subject as you noticed, and thank you for apologizing -- I didn't mean to sound at all pissed off or anything.....just that it's easy to take things for granted until it feels like you're being kicked in the balls while hit in the ass with a baseball bat 24/7.....and that's on the GOOD days. :(
