Naltrexone Pellet Side Effects

I just got a Naltrexone implant a week and a half ago. I am looking forward to 3 months of certain sobriety. When it first was inserted I had some noticable side effects including a light dirty speed buzz, depression (probably from guilt and withdrawel), and the inability to sleep through the night. THese seem to be wearing off.

Any one else had any side effects from the pellet?

It blocks you endogenous opiates from hitting the receptors....there's bound to be some small side effects.

Brother, welcome. "They" are filthy liars. I was on the stuff after an ultra-rapid detox. I went in to it like a naive dumbass, but after sleepless weeks of feeling like shit I finally did some research. I forget where it was, but I found a list of side-affects, and it's an f'n mile long and includes some big ones. It is my understanding that "they" would prefer we didn't see a list of naltrexone's side-affects because few sane people would put that kinda shite into their bodies.

Here is some stuff. They say that the side effects aren't common. But WTF. 10% seems high to me!
I had a whole lot of the milder ones when I took it. This stuff is for alcohol treatment I think, so maybe opiate treatment is different? Also, this is oral and not the implant.

Thank you for this info! I was wondering about this . . . could you please elaborate? I was wondering how it blocks dope but not natural nuerotransmitters. I mean I still feel good after I work out and sex so it can't block them all.

Another thing . . . not sure if it is connected but I have been so fiending since it went in. I mean usually I quit and for awhile at least I am just glad to be away from the whole hassle. I think about it all the time . . . I think almost cause I know I can and not mess up.

I had nasty headaches from naltrexone, and it just did not agree with my drinking habits at the time [duh']. I have never went on the implant because I believe Naltrexone [tablets, depot doses, or implants] are not effective for me and they cause more problems than they cure, but its all a state of mind.

I have had quite a few friends on them, that got so sick of having the implant the literally cut it out of there body and went back on the needle. Trust me there is always a way to mess-up its just how far you are willing to go to stay clean or how far you are willing to feel that syringe fulla heroin rush thru your bloodstream. What might seem like a good idea now, wont in a week or two. I have also heard of some nasty infections perpetrated by seedy doctors looking to make a quick buck and offering implants for semi cheap 150-250$ range but there lack of sterilization practices quickly running for cover.

Good luck to you though, the side effects usually taper off semi quickly for some people. I think I was kinda psychosomatically predisposed into thinking the side effects were worse than they were. If it works for you excellent but dont expect miracles from it. IMO, for what its worth.

OK so I just had my second pellet inserted 11 days ago. The side effects seem to be consistant with what I experienced the first time;

light speed buzz that lead to outright anxiety after a couple cups o coffee or some real world stress.

waking up in the night sometimes with a racing heart and unable to get back to sleep.

exhaustion at the end of the day.

depression (though of course after sobering up I realize my junky ass has a lot to be legitimatly depressed about)

and of course the effect that I was going for blocked effect of the dope (i had to try!)

if I recall last time these effects tapered off by the end of week 2 course that was a three month pellet and this is only a two monther cause he was out of threes.

still its worth it not to have to worry about dope for awhile!

Thanks for the update, seriously. Glad it's workin out for you. Wouldn't it be nice if there was just a pill or a shot, and a junkie could just be 'fixed,' as it were without any more hassle? No more dope sick, back to square one. Side effects from the stuff they have now are worse than being strung out for some people. We can put a person on the moon (yeah right) but we can't cure a heroin addict without brainwashing, blasting him with meds full of side effects, or dopin him up with somethin else. What a world.

I just got my second implant how ever they dont tell you about the side effects of the rapid deto or even the night after so listen up really good.
first they pump this shit into you to clean you out for nearlly 1 week I couldn t stop chucking and straight after because they did nt put me out i had this burning from my neck to my ass (like that burning of deeppeet but inside.
that was the start then came the holutionations and the non stop spewing when i went back to the clinic they just filled me full of more shit and sent me home then on day 4 after i was chucking up my own diarear I was taken to hospital with dehidration it wasnt like I didn t try to take fluids just every thing I took came straight back up even after you get back on your feet you still cant remember anything for atleast 1 week after that again.
I lost 5 kgs in 2 weeks I cant drink coffee because of the diarear and i cant eat shit, you only eat like oncee a day and when you do you just shit it out again.
the first implant I was given sept 2004 I ended up waking up in the lock up because I had asulted my partner, how ever Im normally a placid person and quiret and when I asked for a doctor they just threw me in a padded cell,
due to that night I landed myself 3 weeks in prison and I ended up on a 2 year order which im 8 months left of and that partner ended up stabbing me one night for no reason due to drug indused shychosis,
so side effects
first, burning sensation, loss of time (atleast 2 weeks), holutionation (cant be controled),stomach cramps,diarear, agression for days after,diarear ( still weeks later).
after diarear, loss of time, maby even love ones, remorse for god knows what and if you do something you cant remember any way but will be held accountable, you may seem normal but you just arent there for atleast 2 weeks, cramps al over, low tollorence to the cold,loss of lobeto (on the shit you loose that any ways)insomnian, a feel of emptyness and not being and the last thing is the unstability that you have to rebuild what ever you have lost so take note
IF YOU GET IMPLANTS ONCE DONT GO BACK TO THE SHIT IF YOU DO YOU MIGHT AS WELL KILL YOURSELF.
I don t know how I would be with out my present partner knowing me I would of died how ever just do the smart thing and leave drugs alone.
the other thing dont get implants if you just intend to chase rock or just drink piss all the time you might as well keep the habbit you already had.
and one other thing implants are permonant they wont take em out unless you go to a plstic surgen even then you need good reason to and alot of money so be aware and read as much as you can of the paper work that they get you to sign b4 and make shore you trust your carer or they will just leave you alone to die.

I was on naltrexone oral for months.
bad side effects.
weight loss.
insomnia.
depression.
lack of appetite.

I finally used dope while on naltrexone...got high after doing more than I normally would on a relapse, and decided after two days of doing dope to never take that shit again.

for some people it might create a nice buffer from dope...but that buffer is useless when you can go out and get high on the stuff anyway.

a freind of mine died doing that same stupid ass thing I did a few months later after hearing that I got high on the shit. He took dope on naltrexone, got high, and rotted in a corner while his freinds ignored him.

looking at some of the reports on this naltrexone pellet...
I would rather have some other form of poison shoved into my skin.

Hi all, wanted to update you on my implant success.

About a month into that two month pellet I was sick of sobriety so I started using every so often to test and see if I could feel it yet. It ended up wearing off right around when it was supposed to and I went back to my habit and I quickly became worse than ever (IMPORTANT: I STARTED OFF USING VERY LITTLE PEOPLE DIE THINKING THAT THEY CAN GO BACK TO THEIR OLD HABIT DOSES RIGHT AWAY)

I am now a month into a three month pellet and thrilled to be off the dizope! Haven't substituted the rok or drinkin but I am smoking weed all day every day. Still smoking weed all day isn't really a "Drug problem" for me.

Side effects were the same but less severe this time. I combatted the sleeplessness with melatonin which worked like a charm.

Also, wait loss and lack of appetitite to a small degree. Wish this side effect was more pronounced I could loose a few pounds.

My summation on the implant: It is worth it. I hate my addiction. Love dope but hate the addiction and I know I can't control my use. This is great you don't even have to struggle in your mind. It is as free as I have felt in forever! I recommend it for anyone who even thinks they might want to sober up. There has been some indications that it might tax the liver a bit but it is worth it to me and the side effect would have to be pretty bad for it to not be worth it.

I just need to focus on two months from now when I plan on getting another one in. Just needf to make to that appointment!
