Yeah it would appear you have a high tolerance.

I've been on k-pin for 4 years, scripted 3mg per day in a split dose. I've never really abused them since the benzo feeling doesn't do much for me. So, yeah, I'd say that's a high dose.

In all that time I've never developed a big tolerance. Maybe a little - I used to take 1.5 mg at night; now I need 2mg. If I really want to just not care about stuff and zone out ... then 3mg. But 3mg still makes me real tired.

Anyone know why that would be? I mean, not needing more after all this time? It's scripted for anxiety/depression along with lexapro....

When I was doing opiates, I could take 300-350mg of hydro daily (I only had occasional access to stronger stuff but when I did, I took a lot of that, too). My tolerance shot up SO fast - I went from 3-6 10/325s per day up to 20 in NO time. Then 30-35 pills, etc. pretty darn quick.

So probably a basic question: is building a tolerance to opiates a lot different (physiologically) than to benzos? Or is it mainly mental, as in your attitude and purpose when using one or the other class of drugs?

Hope my question makes sense. Oh - and hydro/oxy really helped my depression. Bupe unfortunately does not, although for some people I guess it does.

If I might add: Jawdroppingly high.
You thought about getting an emergency-stash? Cuz if god forbid, you for some reason get cut off, you're in for a hell of a rollercoasterride.

From what I heard, Xanax should be the most addictive drug there is. I guess that goes for tolerance as well. Can shoot up really fast. One advantage over opies though: Never a problem getting an emergency script.

They are similar in the fact that both cause psychological as well as physical dependence. Withdrawal from benzos, however, can be MUCH more dangerous than withdrawal from opiates. DO NOT even cold turkey off benzos. You must come up with a slow, graduated taper as benzo withdrawal can cause seizures and even death depending on the dosage/person.

I feel opiates are more psychologically addicting than opiates, but that may be a personal thing, as I've never had much of a fondness for them in the first place unlike many others. Opiates have much more of a euphoria IMO.

Yes, thats high. Be extremely careful when you are capable of taking doses that high without effect (I'm assuming you use daily / multi-daily) as withdrawal from benzo's is one of the most dangerous and life-threatening withdrawals a person can go through. Death can actually be a symptom of benzo withdrawal. Make sure you have a doctor who fully knows and understands what your benzo use is like and will help you do a very very long taper (some people taper from doses of 10mg xanax / 10mg klonopin over a year+, I've heard of multiple years too for this dose range and higher).

BE CAREFUL, AND KNOW YOUR BODY / BE SAFE / HAVE A DOCTOR HELP YOU TAPER AND WITHDRAW.

From what I have experienced with substances that cause tolerance / dependence is when your taking doses to achieve a high your tolerance sky rockets much much faster then if you are taking minimum doses for therapeutic reasons. Since you were probably chasing that bliss from opiates, you would keep increasing your dose to keep getting the exact same effects.

For example, if you enjoyed benzo's more then opiates and were dosing on your clonazepam to chase a certain high (one that probably doesn't exist what so ever for me, lol) you would keep increasing your doses all the time to get that high and your tolerance would shoot up ridiculously fast just as it did when you were taking opiates. From personal experience, when I would dose an opiate only once a day (I know this is extremely hard, and for me impossible without using a long-acting opiate/opioid) my tolerance would raise extremely slow

Though this is not the only thing that influences tolerance thought it does play a major role. Dose, dosing frequency, ROA, a person's unique brain, a person's body chemistry, and an infinite of other things influence tolerance as well so it is impossible to pin it on one thing.

Oh wow, sorry for the long rant; I'm "in the zone" if anyone understands, lol. At least I didn't wake up with a keyboard pattern on my forehead. If you don't want to read the wall of text, who cares, just my 2cents (well probably about 20bucks for being so long).

I was on xanax for 7 months starting at .25mg, the next week at 3 - 6mg daily, careless doctors... I started off using them normally but the tolerance skyrocketed cause it took 2mg+ to relax me. I started binging on 6mg and worked my way up to taking 20 -30 mg, usually keeping it at 12mg daily. I couldn't wake up and not have my pills there, it started taking up my life, all I could think was pills. Benzo withdrawls lead me to rehab, hurting my family and myself, even a year later I have flashbacks of the horrid times.

I was on xanax for several years, but always went through my monthly supply too quickly to get addicted. I now realize how lucky I was. Thank god I didn't end up going through withdrawal, I have heard too many horror stories.
