Hey Y'all dope feens,

I have been lookin at this dude in Malaysia's blog lately - I discovered it by accident a couple of weeks ago - called "Sixthseal"

The dude is like 24 or 25 Malaysian or Indonesian living in Malaysia (Indonesia is by the way where the vast majority of the world's kratom is cultivated today...)

He is one of us, well, not just an opiophile, you might say a garbagehead. A man after my own heart. I prefer opiates the most, but my drug of choice is pretty much whatever you got (at least on the past - these days I am a good wittle boy - only 20mg of bupe per day!)

Well, the Malaysian authorities have contacted this guy and informed him that if he doesn't remove ALL drug and pharmaceutical posts from his blog, and also all derogatory statements towards the police and government officials and organizations, the consequences will be, uuuhhh, NOT so nice.

Malaysia is, as it turns out, a country run by a government with leanings towards fundamentalist Islamic extremism. They practice Shar'ia law in some aspects of society , for example in divorce proceedings. That means that women HAVE BASICALLY NO RIGHTS. You don't have freedom of speech like we do here in the USA. I feel bad for this guy. His blog was really really good, with LOTS of pictures of the drugs he was doing, foods he was eating and people (mostly girls) that he meets. Very interesting (at least to me it was). Now, practically the coolest part of his blog has been declared illegal, with no recourse for him to take, just because the police and government don't like what he says, it's subversive you know.

We have so much freedom here in this country that people just don't fucking get it! I mean, I absolutely can't stand it when some idiots start going on about "our rights are being taken away" and shit like that. It's total and complete bullshit!

Why, just yesterday, I posted a link to the January 2006 issue of the "DEA Microgram" bulletin. It has all kinds of pictures of drugs confiscated in busts. Now, mind you, I wish that our drug laws were a little less restrictive, but they've been that way for a long long time, it should be pointed out, but this DEA Microgram Bulletin would be illegal in Malaysia! Our government is putting it out for all to see here. It's like saying to the people, "hey look at all the fucking drugs people are taking!"

I wish marijuana was legal. I wish doctors could prescribe any controlled substance they want to maintain addicted individuals, I wish more stuff was available without prescription (like some of the weaker opiates like propoxyphene, pentazocine, codeiene, dihydrocodeine, et cetera, and benzos, and perhaps some mild stimulant drugs like modafinil, pemoline, fenozolone, pyrovalerone). I DON'T think that all drugs should be legalized because stuff like cocaine, methamphetamine just absolutely DESTROY people's lives and the lives of their children if they have children. Heroin should be available to addicts with a doctor's RX too.

But, I digress, we have a lof of freedom here in the USA and I didn't think about it until I saw that this poor dude at sixthseal was being haranged by the cops to remove all subsversive content off of his blog.

I check on Sixthseal everyday, just to see what he's up to. I love that site! Actually, I used to love it, now I'm just curious if it will go back to the way it was; or will it be forever a food blog (gawd, I hope not). But I think that the powers that be really put him out there, with all the news articles and such, so I don't really expect it to ever be the same. We'll see.

It's still interesting from a cultural standpoint, as the way of life there is very different from my everyday life. Some of the foods he eats, and ammounts (!), just blow me away.

sixthseal is a great site. I'm sure it will live on in an archive somewhere.
this is the kind of shit that happens when you give government too much power. large government doesn't solve problems, it creates them.

Zoop. I love you man, but are you telling me that since we have more freedom than people in malaysia, we have "so much freedom"? I mean, c'mon, that's just not a valid argument. Yeah, what happened to that guy sucks, but it is completely unreleted to the status of our rights here. Freedom is NOT relative. A right is something everyone has; it just depends on the local law as to whether or not one can exercise that right. There are lots of rights (some of them you mentioned in your post), which we here are not allowed to exercise. period. If people would get off this stuff about the U.S. being the greatest country in the world, and quit being satisfied with our abbreviated list of rights, we might pick up some momentum for positive change. You sound like a pretty conservative guy, so I wonder how you can be so quick to champion the government's standard line.

Right on Cod, and our freedoms are dwindeling everyday, secret wiretaps, and just what in the hell is a "Free Speech Zone"? If you watch Free Speech TV, and shows like Democracy Now, youll see just how little our freedoms mean now a days.

the rights of man may be self evident but they are not equally protected. in order for rights to mean anything you need a system that protects rights. the constitution was designed to do this. most of the founding fathers had the right idea, but the constitution did not provide enough protections from tyranny of the masses. however, the constitution still does enough to stand in the way of a lot of ridiculous laws that many other countries besides the US have. such as idiotic anti-gun laws, anti-privacy laws, and giant welfare states. the US isn't perfect by any means but it is the most free with some exceptions. the only way that we can get more freedom is to reduce the size of government. the larger the government the less freedom for the individual. most countries are more socialistic than our government which means they have larger governments; the US has a much less intrusive federal government than the other countries on Earth, and that is the case for the US being the most free country.

PK, no offense meant, but I'm guessing you haven't been to a butload of countries. I haven't either, but I've been to enough. Some are terrible places for the freedom loving. BUT, in many the gov't is far less intrusive, and far MORE tolerant of libertines like us than our government is. Some countries' gov't officials don't even think to intrude on places that we Americans just expect government interference. Maybe you meant developed countries? Maybe I can agree with you there. Yes, bigger gov't means less freedom....There is a definite connection. No problem with that. Ours should be at most a third the size it is now. This country has the potential to be great again (it's pretty good now), and I think it will be. Just probably not in my lifetime.
edit--actually I reread your post and saw the 'some exceptions.' I guess maybe we agree totally.

In my experience, people who say things like that have never traveled to other countries, (except MAYBE Mexico or Canada). That doesn't make them wrong, but it doesn't make them right either.

well I hear a lot bad shit from all my family in the US, guns, violence, poverty, police problems.... and i see bigger problems myself, like your dishonest, immoral, leader who terrorizes people around the world.

hell, if you can send tommy chong to jail for a fucking bong, there's MAJOR MOTHERFUCKING PROBLEMS! how can you dislike that man?

and the worst of it is, the american hypocrisy is exporting it's twisted torturous "values", if ya can even call them that, to other countries.

USA Lies, Steals and Kills.
I could cite examples, but i'm sure we all know of many.

Don't mean to step on toes here, no offense to anyone here unless you're another crooked american politician.

Hey Superman, no offense takin'!!!! If a person can't handle the truth then so be it. From the mid 19th century until present day the powers that be in this country have raped, pillaged, murdered, stole and exploited on their merry empire building way. I heard that "America Love or Leave It!" back in the sixties and it doesn't carry anymore weight with me now than it did then! I love my country, I just don't like it when administrations like those of Nixon, Reagan and Bush only want to follow the laws and the parts of the Constitution that they believe in. It's similiar to how they treat their religion, they only quote the parts of the bible that they believe makes their case.....you know, selective editing.....and don't bother to read the whole message. Keeps their consciences clear and the money rolling in. I do know that if we don't start putting our leaders feet to the fire, quit settling for this censored media we now have and require them to dig for the facts, whatever they may be and then report them, this so-called "Land of the Free" is just going to cease to exist as we once knew it. When people talk about the price of freedom not being cheap, it doesn't just mean going to war and the casualties that result from it. It also means being a vigilant citizen, working for candidates who believe as we do, support and vote for them and also demonstrate and speak out against it when what our government is doing is wrong. Contrary to what the right wing preaches, it's not unpatriotic to speak out AGAINST the government or this country, quite the contrary. It's unpatriotic NOT to!! Remember a fellow by the name of Thomas Paine
