Okay, so I have been a pretty regular user of oc 40's for a few year. Well this week I got my hands on some 80's (which never come around) and was eager to get my high on. Well, I did half of the pill assuming it would be like snorting a whole 40 and about 1/2 hour later I began to have an allergic reaction of some sort. Both of my eyes got so swollen that it was hard to see, and I was covered in hives all over my body:(. Assuming this was from something else (a bug, or a food allergy) I just let it pass without doing anymore pill.... So the next day I snorted the rest of the 80, and once again the reaction happened. Has this happened to anyone else?? I have never had this happen before and like I said I do these pills a lot. Is it possible to become allergic to something after using it for so long?? any advice will help because i still have a bunch of pills and I want to so badly take 'em. Thanks for the help!

I would guess that something in them is causing an allergic reaction. If this does happen again, with the Oxycontin or anything else you take, take some Benadryl. Either in the pill form or liquid form. I would keep both handy. Swallowing the liquid form may be easier if you are having an allergic reaction. 50mg should help, taken every 4 hours until symptoms disappear.
You could try taking the Benadryl before the Oxy's to prevent an allergic reaction. While it may not prevent all the symptoms, it may decrease the severity. Be careful!!!!!
The allergic reaction you are getting may get worse each time and lead to anaphylactic shock, which is life-threatening.
As I said, it may be something such as a filler in the Oxy's causing this.

I would go with Periactin (Cyproheptadine) instead of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) because diphenhydramine is quite sedating. And yes while it will potentiate OxyContin. It will probably put you to sleep and therefore waste your OxyContin buzz. Where as with Periactin you only need smaller less sedating amounts for allergies and once you get used to it a bit. It's way less sedating than diphenhydramine.

Diphenhydramine used to be sold OTC here as Unisom (yes, I know Unisom is Doxylamine Succinate in the US) in 25mg strengths as a sleep agent! Will still have it in Benedryl liquid I think.
There's lots of anti-histamines you can use. Dimenhydrinate, Diphenhydramine, Cyproheptadine, Doxylamine Succinate. Out of these I've always found Cuproheptadine to be less sedating. Doxylamine Succinate and Diphenhydramine are around the same. There's heaps of other non-drowsy ones you can use out there, Here's a list of most anti-histamines:
