I have a few questions, i hope someone knows some answers.
i know that when i i.v. dilaudid, i just crush them, boil it & shoot it.
lately, we have been getting IR Morphine, We crush them & then filter once with ice cold water into another spoon, then filter through that spoon to the syringe. What chemical is in the morpine tab that we are trying to get out?
Also, i had heard of doing vicodin the same way, is that possible, & is it worth it? That would be filtering out the tylenol?
Thanks.

Leave the vikes alone it's not worth it. You are filtering out binders and other insolubles like talc. Some dilaudids like the abbott 8mg are only lactose, stearate, and dilaudid. They are completely soluble but filtering is still a good idea.

The only chemical in IR Morphine that you want is Morphine. The bio-availability of morphine is poor by any other route except IV... but for Vikes and shit, you'd be better off cold-water extracting and taking orally.

bio-availability?bio-availability means what % of the drug makes it to your brain.

The same drug has different bio-availability depending on how you take it. For example, morphine:
100% if you IV it- all of the M goes into your bloodstream
20% if you eat it- a lot of it gets destroyed by your stomach acid, and filtered out by your liver, etc
40% plugged- a lot more makes it into your bloodstream, no stomach acid to destroy it

You will also read about "first-pass metabolism" look it up on wiki, i cant explain it simply.

The numbers I gave you were for example purposes only- so people please dont get on my case if the numbers are off.

First pass metabolism isn't that hard to explain. basically it means that a % of the drug gets destroyed before it even enters your bloodstream/kidneys or whatever (in a nutshell, i know there's more to it than that). IIRC it's most commonly associated with the stomach/GI tract destroying the drug.

OP, Please try to post your questions in the proper forum. You will get more/better responses this way. Very few people probably actually saw this where you posted it. Thanks
