So how much does an rx'd of 10ct 50µg/hr and 75µg/hr patches cost you? I'm not sure which I'll go for yet, I'd rather not be dead so probably 50µg/hr patches.

Thanks.

Are you asking what they cost at the pharmacy or are you trying to figure out what they cost on the street?

My rx is $590 for 10 of the 75mcg Janssen brand. The mylan non-gel was priced at $510.

I have been offered 50 bucks each for gel patches, while for the non-gel mylan brand patches, the best I was offered was 30 bucks.

Just remember to start low and raise slow, till you find the proper dose.

Good luck

I called Costco as they're almost always the cheapest

#10 50µg/hr $171.89

#10 75µg/hr $256.89

Holy fuck, if I would have known it was that cheap, I would have switched months ago.

Hey check this out: http://www.freedrugcard.us/
You can print this card. You will get a discount of anywhere between 20-75% off your scripts. Most major drug stores take them. Had a Perc script that was $86 with that discount card I got it for $39.

I've got the card, but does it do anything for Fent patches?

It should. It is for any prescription. It doesn't keep you from getting narcotics.
EDIT: I did a pricing look-up on the card website and the patches are eligible for a discount.

is it just me or is this wrong?

$50 a piece for 10 of them is $500 bucks, so you'd be out $90 if you sold them at $50 a piece.

not to mention thats a fucking ridiculous price to pay for actually being prescribed them, I'd think.

I've paid 50.00/a/p at street prices. It's downright silly.

not really. a 75ug patch is worth at least 15 hits. How many hits is a 50 rock worth?

Same compulsive behavior, same prices.

I agree that is WAY too much for an RX of 10 patches. Maybe they get scripted 15

My first script was for 20 of the 25mcg/h patches. I got the Mylan brand and it was $270 for script. I paid a $5 copay. Insurance (I don't have to pay for) rocks! There is something very liberating about going into a store and walking out with a box of patches for $5. Monday, I did the same thing, but with the 100mcg/h patches. :D:p

Sitting here with a box of 5 50ug/hr patches... with one on, in w/d.. how long does this take to kick in?

Total came to about 85$ for 5ct.

It wont fully kick in until the next day really. My script for 14 of the 25 patches cost me 145 bucks at costco, my script for 10 of the 100mcg patches, (which i am still trying to come up with money to fill) is $320 at costco. I've got 4 of the 25s on right now, i WISH that was enough to even touch my pain, let alone get me off.... I can't wait to get my 100s and slap 2 on. I'm HOPING that 200mcg/hr is enough to at least FEEL it.

Thanks for the input, I did tape the edges down and basically have it covered in tape (I'm paranoid about it breaking in my sleep and having the fentanyl attack my pregnant wife and the bump inside.) - I just blame my tweaker days and being unable to sleep for the paranoia.

This is definitly wrong. They are no where near that expensive.

My last script for Duragesic....Janssen was for 15 of the 50mcg/h....I'm on the Patient Assistance program thru Janssen so I don't pay anything BUT on the paper attached to the bag, with the prescribing info and all that jazz said "your insurance saved you $572.00".

That is no lie. The BRAND name patches aint cheap! If you'd like the pharmacy name & phone number to verify, pm me and I will provide. But I guarantee he's not lying.

Well I'm not 100% sure about the BRAND name patches. But he said the Mylan ones are $510 and I know that isn't right. The Mylan and Sandoz generic ones are much cheaper.

I mean people sell the 100mcg ones on the street for $40-50 all the time. If the 75mcg ones cost $590 for 10, then that would mean people are selling them for cheaper than they cost from the pharmacy, and that just ain't gonna happen.

Princess
01-04-2008, 02:51 AM
I personally think that the street price doesn't have all that much to do with the non-insurance pharmacy price. If someone is getting a $500 script for say, a $10 copay and they need cash....they'd sell for lower than the actual pharmacy, no insurance price, right?

That's just how I think about it. I have no idea what the generics actual no insurance price is....but mine are for the actual brand name and I get 15 patches a month not the 10 mentioned above...so I don't know?

You do know what insurance is don't you...

'nuff said, stop arguing about prices about stuff you have no idea whatsoever about dude... I assure you, the GENERIC fent patches cost hundreds for just ten patches.. Hell I pay $110 for ten 2.5mg ones and the 5mg ones I get now are $270 for 10! I get the Sandoz brand, god knows what the bran name Duragesics would cost... when I was on OC that shit was around $400 something for just 90, OC40s! Generic IMPAX brand at that! but yeah, I wouldn't doubt for a SEC that the 7.5mg ones are every bit of $500...
don't question ppl who actually PAY THIS STUFF monthly when you have not once bought a fent script I bet from a pharmacy..
Just figured I'd clear it up a little ore if PTO hasn't already said everything that needs to be said... some ppl have insurance, some don't, simple as that..

I don't need to be prescribed the patches to call the pharmacy and ask what the price is, which I did, and they were no where near $590 for 10 of the 100mcg patches. So obviously I have no idea what I am talking about. And even with insurance, I have never heard of people selling pharm drugs for cheaper than the pharmacy does.

Furthermore, one guy on here said his script for 10 of the 100mcg patches is $320 and another said 10 of the 75mcg patches is $256. I am not saying they arent expensive, I just think the guy who posted that might have gotten mixed up or he needs to find a cheaper pharmacy.

#10 50µg/hr $171.89

#10 75µg/hr $256.8

And I am not the only one who thought this was a little strange.

This could be argued about forever. The prices at the PHARMACY withOUT insurance varies from zipcode to zipcode. That is a fact.

How is it not understandable that when someone sells something they didn't pay full retail price for...they'll sell it to make what they can?

I'll ask SWIM to ask the fent peddler next time she buys a 50 on the street, to make sure and ask how the patch was obtained. Insurance or no insurance? Stolen or what? Want to make sure the dealer isn't getting ripped off.

FYI, I also bought a brand new PS2 for my son a couple years ago....still sealed in the box. The dude selling wasn't asking for the "actual retail value"....but I was happy to give him $150 for it! Now I wonder why he didn't charge me what Best Buy charges. Hum.

The "U&C" (standard price) for 10 generic gel patches (50mcg/hr) on my most current script reads $152.41. But I only have a co-pay of $10.

Prices WILL vary....I did a 50 square mile search....pharm by pharm just to prove this when I first went on the patches. Many pharms will not give out pricing info for opiates over the phone. The average price for 10.....50mcg/hr patches were as follows

CVS..............245.00
Walgreens.....238.00
Costco..........229.00
small little pharm I go to....134.00!

I found the small "mom and pop" pharms to be MUCH more competitive on pricing....I am self pay so this is very important to me.

10.............75mch/hr patch results were very similar with my small "mom and pop" pharms coming in at over a 100 dollar savings once again.....coming in at 210.00.

My suggestion to any of you who don't have insurance.......and don't qualify for assistance programs because of your earnings is to really shop around. I'm treated a million times better in the small "mom and pop" place that I go than I've ever been treated in any "big" pharmacy.

I go to a small pharmacy for all my scripts. It's always cheaper than the chains plus I'm in and out of there in 10 minutes tops.

Thank god i have insurance, i could never afford 400 bucks for them. WOW

Got that right. I thought once Janssen's copyright was over the cost would go way down with generics. It must be quite involved and expensive to produce.

Scripts do vary from pharmacy to area etc... I usually got the Sandoz unil this last time was Watson, and mine are free(no co-pay) but the cost is $398.00 on the sticker.
