I haven't bothered to look much into it... Can you somehow get ibogaine in the US? Off the street or something? Is there some way you could extract it?

It's Scheduled in the US. http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/ibogaine/ibogaine_law.shtml Not in Canada though. im sure if you take the time you can find a vendor up there.

Yes, but you have to look around and do your research. There is an "underground" scene. I did it in Florida in 05 to get off of Methadone.

It was effective in the sense that I had zero withdrawal symptoms during and for a little while after. I felt so bad for like 3 or 4 months after that I ended up going back to using. I didn't feel "normal" for a long time after getting off of Methadone. But, it totally helped me get off of it when nothing else worked. I tried tapering, but nothing worked, except Ibogaine.
