I have recently decided to start a new quest in life. I am going to try to make my own Hydrocodone. Now I do not have a chemistry background as I am a (bio)statistician, but I have taken organic chemistry classes and I found them fasinating. So my question to all y'all is: how do I go about doing this?
Only when I know the procedure will I invest in the materials necessary. I have just started researching this and I know that Hydrocodone can be derived from Thebaine but that is also a controlled substance.
So any suggestions. Let's see what happens.

Actually, it's Oxy that comes from Thebaine. I think hydro is made from codeine...?

now there's a mission, make hydrocodone, I think maybe you could dig up the original patent to get an idea of the procedure? and yeah I believe hydrocodone is derived from codeine, but I could be dead wrong. But oxycodone is definitely derived from thebaine

If Thebaine could easily be extracted from poppies in the home user's situation, I'm sure you'd have thousands of tea drinkers around the world happily supplying you with it if you could do the Oxycodone conversion!

It is an OK book, you can find the stuff on the net but its all compiled there for you. Not easy to say the least but worth the venture i supose.
