My Dr proscribed these for me today and I have never taken them before -
Can anyone tell me what some side affects might be as well any possible issues with taking them over a long period of time? Thanks

most important side effect over long time use would be memory loss, k-pins are great though and have a long lasting effect of duration. They're like valium or any other benzo, xanax, etc. except a little different, theyre also given for people prone to convulsions or seizures.
You should have made this thread in the "other drugs" section though, its gonna get moved

side effects when taken as prescribed... lessened anxiety, relaxation, and good sleep.
side effects when taken in excess... lessened inhibitions, memory blackouts, having to listen to people tell you what asinine things you did last night, and time travel. (really, you'll take a handful and wake up and *poof* it's 3-4 days later). oh yeah, and excessive bruising from all the bumping into things and falling down.
possible issues with long-term use... a physical addiction that is tough to break and WD's that must be medically supervised, or done intelligently (with an approved taper and good solid knowledge of danger signs).
seriously though, just be a little extra careful till your body gets adjusted to them and you know how they treat you. (i'm assuming that you've never taken benzos, or at least kpins, before). some people feel groggy or dizzy when they first take a benzo, so don't go for a long drive or anything right away. after a few days, you'll have a pretty good idea how your body reacts to them. and of course, if you're a drinker or doing any opiates, use even more caution, as benzos WILL potentiate them.
Using the search engine will yield MANY answers. Try using it.

I have taken Xanax many times - But never Kpins. I guess the good thing is I am taking them as prescribed, no more no less. They never made me dizzy or sleepy but I did have a glass of scotch a few after taking one the other night and was a bit loose. I took me forever and a fucking day to kick opi's I'm not getting hooked on these mother F*ckers two as I heard from others Benzo WD can be fatal -

I have been taking Klonopin on a daily basis for over 10 years. I have taken Xanax, Valium, Ativan, etc. I love Klonopin because it is long lasting and it keeps you comfortable. IMHO Xanax is a great benzo, but it is short acting. It "hits" you really fast and it stops working quickly as well. The good thing about Klonopin to me is that it is long lasting and you don't feel it as fast as Xanax and you don't have to take as many because it does not "drop" you like Xanax. Klonopin is also used to treat if you have seizures, convulsions. Klonopin is also a very strong benzo when compared to xanax , valium, etc.

K-pins are a reset button on the day...
Having a shitty day, take a K-Pin...

I dunno man... One time i took a 2mg clonazepam (Which was pretty stupid, since I had no tolerance) I slept like a baby for 10 hours. And the whole next day, my motorskills were way off. My movements were like I've been drinking 12 beers, but my mind was stone-cold sober.
I've stayed away from them since.

One 2mg dosage is a way to much. It's better to starts with 0,5mg. I don't know that all tablets can be dissolved under the tongue but It's the most effective method for me. It's half-life is 18-50 hours, so even after 50 hours, 2 days, the half amount of the ingested drug can still be active, so it is very long lasting benzo. If some one is hooked on them, the doctor will try to come down from dosages of clonazepam to diazepam which will substitute the klonopin. It takes time. First you take only clonazepam, when you begin therapy you will take in morning diazepam, and the rest day clonazepam, then after few weeks, maybe months, because It realy takes time, you will take diazepam in morning and in midday, and in evening still clonazepam, then after some long time you taking only diazepam, and then coming down to zero from diazepam. The substitution with diazepam is the only way of the less harming detox from clonazepam because it is so strong that when you are addicted you can even get epilepsy and diazepam is the less addicting benzo.
