The process can be different, depending on what you are trying to shoot. What is it?

Just don't.
Your habit will only get worse.
I really get the feeling
you're probably underage.

Good point. I figured she was probably going to do it anyways. And I was kind of mean to her last night. don't want her to hurt herself.

Unless you are opiate nieve 50mg of Demoerol is a real low dose.

But that may just be me. Do what your comfortable with. Your the Nurse.

Demerol cooks up weird. Its a bitch to filter. Cut the end off of a q-tip, not a whole cotton ball.

first of all i wasnt asking to IV, anyone whos reads my posts will see I SC, and excuse me i know how to give a injection, and set up and IV, sc lock or picc line, that wasnt what i was asking, i was asking how one filters it, sorry we dont study that at school, dont ever insult me like that, i was one of the top in my class, i know a lot about nursing, maybe if ur ass knew how to read a post right. Sorry, in nursing school we dont exactly talk about crushing po meds to be used to inject, and once again im not tryin to do IV, i never wantes to do IV, i do sc AND as a nurse i know the sites of injection for that, and as i stated in a previous post when injecting the narcotics come in liquid based ampules for sc and IM. oh and fyi, thats why the states is begging for canadian nurses, get ur facts straight.

If you're so wise,
stop making threads
about topics anyone
could find the answers to
with the search engine
or five minutes on Google.
I would think anyone
who could graduate from nursing school
could instinctively figure this out.
And please use spell check,
that way you won't come across
as a teenager.

Injecting oral meds or anything not specifically made for injection puts at high risk for infection. Filtering is mainly done so that you are not introducing solids to your blood-stream as this can cause problems with your lungs, eyes, heart, liver, and brain. I don't even think that filtering for im or sc would make much of a difference. I would still filter, but I would only iv oral meds like demerol. I'm not saying that you should iv, but you should know that you are putting yourself at pretty high risk for abscesses and cellulitis. Having an abscess aspirated really sucks and it's hard to explain how you got it.

finding the safest way to do unsafe things IS a part of this .org, just please use the search function.....be safe and have fun.

ps- sc'ing 50mg dem...not worth it.....for real. Grab a roxi...crush...add water...filter thru small piece of cotton or "shake'n'bake"....that'll get ya where you want to go, but do not attempt to IV a full 30 unless you have a high tolerance...as for sc'ing.....never do that.....causes MANY skin/tissue probs. Hope that helps.

number one... we have a search engine so that people use it. sorry, but once we're here for a while, we get tired of answering the same questions over and over, even when asked by someone new. sometimes our search engine can be difficult, so some find it easier to search through Google, using the advanced feature with our site as the domain you want it to search. this process is detailed in a guide made for newbies and stickied at the top of the "I Be New Here" forum, called "Unofficial Guide to PM's, Rep Points and Stuff." all these stickies are there to be read by new members, along with the rules, etc. it helps all of you to fit into the group easier, and helps the rest of us by cutting back on redundant questions.

number two... try not to be too hurt by random rudeness (or anything you perceive to be rude). keep in mind that you're on a site full of opiate users of ALL types... from chronic pain patient soccer moms, to street-hardened junkies that just got outta jail. we all go through tough times AND bad days (kicking, no meds, what-have-you), and sometimes we can be rough on each other. you gotta be able to roll with the punches here, or else you'll be crying constantly or throwing up defenses (and that'll only make us junkies ram them down harder... we're a fighting bunch that always doubt before believing, ya dig?) no one's gonna hold hands much.

number three... it's really a bad idea to SC oral meds. no matter how well it gets filtered, there will be particulate matter in the shot (water soluble talc, for instance). this will be a prime way to develop an abcess at the injection site. and of course, it's not good (from a harm reduction standpoint) to put this in your veins either, but it is relatively safer than under your skin. either way, i'd recommend you invest in a good micron filter if you're going to shoot any oral meds (i.e. pills). and i'd stay away from SC, unless you get a solution again that's made specifically for injection.

hope this helps, and stay safe!

This is an excellent post: I tried to "sticky" it, but only know how to 'sticky" threads, so maybe someone else can: damned good and true...
