I've been on suboxone maintenance since March of 05, started at 4mg a day and have been stabilized at 24mg a day since about June of 05. I have relapsed about 5 times now since I've been on the suboxone so not sure if that has anything to do with this or its just tolerance. I notice lately when I first wake up that I'm already getting pretty cold from chills, slightly runny nose and slight aches like the beginning of wd from any opiate. I hurry get dressed, take my first 8mg pill and within a half hour I'm great again. I feel fine all day as I take my 3 pills spaced out until last one at 8pm. When I go to bed I"m feeling fine, but every morning I feel those feelings again which I never had a while back. Anyone else get this? is it just tolerance or did I diminish the effects etc of the suboxone more each time I go back on the opiate of my choice? has anyone here that is on suboxone ever try taking vicodin or H etc while on suboxone? someone here(forgot what post)was claiming they took some vicodin a few hours after taking suboxone and the combo of the two made them really buzzed but then the suboxone never worked nearly as good anymore after that since they took vicodin with suboxone and now the suboxone wont keep the wd's at bay much anymore.

Opio, I have that almost every morning, then again I am on only 1 mg of suboxone a day. I do this so I can still get buzzed if I chose to. With 24mg a day, you shouldnt be experiencing any kind of w/d in the morning. Suboxone is suppose to work for up to 48 hours (never in my case though) So no, it isnt that uncommon, but I dont think its anything to worry about. No matter how many times you relapse, it will not make the suboxone work less for you next time.
I dont know about you, but sometimes I like to wait till Im sick, then I take my dose. That way it feels like Im getting high in a way. Going from shitty to good is a great trick. I use to do that with H all the time. I didnt like being high 24/7. It would get boring for me. Whenever I got bored I would just wait to get high till I was w/ding, then I would get high as a fuckin kite!! That was the shit!! Everyone is different though.

Good point Shaun, I notice that too, if I'm in the mood and can handle it, sometimes I skip my last dose of the night and try to wait until I'm too uncomfortable next day and when I take my dose I feel much better longer. That also reminds me of the times I was taking so much vicodin, others here might notice this same thing. I would be taking vicodin, sometimes it comes when I"m on suboxone too, I get days where I have like a strange "reverse antidepressant" effects from the drug. Instead of feeling high and so great I suddenly feel sad etc mentally just like when wd'ing but without any of the physical feelings. I would get that strange feeling for a few hours or so when I was buzzing on vicodin, I get it once in a while on the suboxone too. I notice when that happens I will cut my dose until I start wd'ing and that helps alot. I wonder if overloading the receptors causes this to happen or something?

I used to get them too (during my stint with Sub) but my solution was to let them dissolve in my mouth, completely, taking care not to generate too much saliva, and then hold all the solution under my tongue for a long time. I just wasn't convinced that I was getting all that stuff in my blood unless I did it that way. Sometimes I would hold it there for 15 or 20 minutes. And maybe it was in my head, but the morning w/d's went away (I don't think I could dream that up!). Just my $0.02

I always used to find that if I left taking my gear till I was really starting to suffer withdrawal wise, that it only took the withdrawals away. To get wasted I'd need another hit (then another then another then another and so it went on...........!!) Nowadays thanks to the wonders of methadone I'm lucky enough not to have to suffer full blown withdrawals. (Touch wood)

..take 16mg a day and every morning feel lke crap. Don't get WD's but still feel like crap. Today I tried 2mg and some adderal. I feel OK.
This makes dosing every 2 days very hard for me.
I have never gotten real physical WD's in the morning...just wake up in a mental fog...a thick, thick fog.

Also. I keep the sub-laden saliva in my mouth for up to 2 hours sometimes. If I can keep it in my mouth for over an hour, I'll spit it out.
There is def. bupe in the saliva after having under your tongue for only 15-30 minutes. That's why the dosages are so high as compared with the injectables. You are really wasting a ton of the stuff. Spit into a cup and use it again later....mmmmmmmmm.

I have also been feeling a bit weird lately. I am on 4mg of sub once a day. At first I felt great with lots of energy and now the mornings are hard. I dont feel like getting up then I take the sub and feel good for about an hour then lose all my energy again.
Sometime in the middle of the day I will start to get cold sweats and feel feverish. My stomach will hurt and I feel nauseaded. (sp) I have even tried to take another half of sub but it really doesn't help much.

I highly recommend (based only on my experience) taking suboxone twice a day for at least a little while, to get a good build up Clinical Dose in your system. I did this for several weeks and then and only then could I go onto a every other day dose...
If you can't do that now, and still have morning WD's, and are trying not to get fucked up, you may want to get on a doc's waiting list and get the prescription, and say fuck clinics. Until then, methadone may be your best bet?
