My brain perks up when I read the word "euphoria" and some egghead used it when describing his experience with the supposed weight loss food additive "Hoodia". I was in Wally world and seen one type for $24 and passed on it but when I got to the checkout counter it was in a formulation with green tea for under $4 with the same amount of "Hoodia"as the rip-off brand.Save your money.my experience was more like this guy's trip report: http://www.newstarget.com/z002713.html Maybe I am not taking enough ,but it did'nt do Jack for me. This stuff was featured on "60 Minutes "and I normally I ignore the hype but I got sucked in for $4 NOT $24 so if your thinking about trying it ,don't get burned.I took double the amount(suggested on label)and zilch, nada,a big black hole of nothingness. Just my$.02.

that stuff is shit , i was a big fan of natural ephedra until the bastards outlawed it because some dumb fucks took way more than your suppose to , you can get it again but its now a ripoff about 3x the cost of before for a smaller dose.

The thing is, it wasn't even the ephedrine in of itself that was so dangerous. In traditional Chinese herbalism, you do not drink black tea, or even green tea on the same day you drink ma huang (ephedra sinica) tea. This combination of caffeine and ephedrine is a potential deathtrap. Ephedra has traditionally been used as for asthma, and a cold aid as a decongestant, not a weight loss aid (think psuedoephedrine, aka Sudafed. Its a synthetic of the alkaloid ephedrine, found in ephedra). Then American companies combine ephedrine, and caffeine in astronomical amounts, and give it to people as weight-loss aids, which is absolutely insane! And of course people end up bumping up their dosages to get greater effects, and they end up experiencing tachycardia (a racing heart rate), then have strokes or heart attacks, and sometimes end up dying.

Have you ever looked at the ingredients on those bottles besides ephedrine? Gotu Kola, Guarana berry, Yerba Mate, there were often nearly half a dozen sources of caffeine in those products. I've personally had far more adverse effects from drinking too much green tea, than the same amount of ma huang tea (which is absolutely delicious by the way. It tastes like tea with honey). But what's really dangerous were the ECA Stackers, which is the combination of Ephedrine, Caffeine, and Aspirin. The actions of which can be found here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECA_stack) Read "mechanism of effect in weight loss," and you'll be shocked that ephedrine was banned, rather than just this combination. (But that's what we do in America, we're always looking for one thing which we can single out, and blame for our troubles. Conditional hazards are typically thought of as too complex I suppose.)

Then they came out with all caffeine formulations which people assume to be safe, and while they are safer, they still can cause tachycardia.
