Avinza Advice

Greetings!!

This is my first post (although I have been lurking for about 6 months). I hope in the future to assist with many of the communities questions and situations, but today I need some advice. :)

I have been taking 4 10MG Percs 3 times a day for about a week. It has been very nice to assist with my everlasting pain and to get me feeling yummy. Today I ran out :(. My buddy gave me 2 60MG avinzas, I ate them both and am now worried that it may be too much. Knowing that I have been taking about 90 - 120 mg of percs a day for a little while now, do you folks think the two 60mg avinzas is too much? I don't want to get sick - just want to feel better.

Out of the total 120mg of Morphine in the Avinza, you will only absorb about 30% of it orally. Added to that is the fact that it will be administered as time release (assuming you didnt crush/chew them up), you will likely not feel much at all from the Avinzas. Probably even less than the Oxy buzz....

Morphine is good, but taken orally it is useless.

It'd take 230-270mg+ of morphine a day to be equiv to your 120mg oxy a day dosing. So you shouldn't die or nothing from that dose... especialy if you left it in its time release form(took as is). It takes pretty much twice as much morphine for a dose of equal effects than oxycodone. So like if you take 40mg oxycodone you would need 80-100mg of morphine for equivalent analgesic effects.

So I wouldn't worry. Now if you have to force breathing TOO much. Might wanna call 911 man. There has been three times when I probably should have called 911 but didn't cause I was stupid and tried to shake it off(and luckily did) where I was literally forcing myself to breathe on too much fent/smack. If you live with someone hang around them for the day/night or at least have a phone right by you if you're alone ready to dial 911 if you need. I would think you would be fine though man. I'm not a Dr. and am NOT giving advice to be taken to be used instead of getting professional medical help if needed.

Let me rephase, for the purposes of getting fucked up, using Morphine orally is a waste. :)

You'll be fine, either way. Whether you crushed it or simply swallowed them whole. Between the two, there simply is no comparison. I know some people get good pain control off morphine, but orally, you'd have to take a shit load of it to OD when your used to taking 120mg of oxycodone a day. For me, I've found oral morphine for pain control to be shit. But, that's me. Good luck and at least it will stave off w/d's for a while.

Avinza's are 24 hour time released. You wont even notice you took anything other than the fact you wont be sick from WD's

I agree....you shouldn't have OD problems at that dose...so kick back and enjoy it. Also, in my experience, avinzas come in capsule...blue and white...atleast the 30mg ones that we used to get...tiny TR balls inside....crush em and insufflate or....pluggin is best.....they can be fixed, but only lasts like 5 minutes...
