Ya, this release is one of the best quality rips I have seen especially this soon after the movie came out. It is near DVD quality. Definitly not your average cam with people's heads popping up in the middle of the movie.

Yeah, the Country Boys/Lucas Brothers were the crew that changed the game. Their leader (they were actual brothers) Frank invented stamped glassines. His major spot being on 8th Ave and W116 in Harlem and his big moneymaker was the brand "Blue Magic."

The thing is, most ex dealers try to hype themselves and exaggerate but if you really study this case you willl see that there is corroborating evidence for just about all his claims:

He had a bank, a Chemical branch, in the S. Bronx where he would literally bring hefy bags filled with bills of all denominations. The manager and a couple of underlings ended up under indictment,etc. The bank's parent corporation was hit with more than 200 money laundering charges and violations behind Frank Lucas.

When he did get popped by the joint task force in Jersey (1975) his wife did get caught with 2 suit cases full of cash. Frank claimed that there was plenty more but police took it, something they of course deny categorically.

He was close friend witht he black gangster Bumpy Johnson, the man who challenged Jewish Gangster Durtch Shultz in the 1st half of the century. He was with Bumpy when he died.

There is no evidence of coffin being used to smuggle #4 from Asia but I would be willing to consider it given his known accomplishments.


The claim that buses would be rerouted around his Blue Magic spot in Harlem is also not likely.


The claim that he had women naked, save for surgical masks milling his untouched heroin is anothe runlikely claim, one that has been repeated about many dealers, most notably Nicky Barnes. It seems to just be an urban legend.


In the end, sadly, Lucas decided to turn sntch and today that decison is being rewarded with a film and more money. Ironic.

It's a good movie. I saw it a week ago, and as someone above said, the quality was good. It's certainly not one of those in theater filmed bootlegs. It seems like it has been ripped straight off of a dvd, probably a screener. Although, unlike most screeners, there is no copyright warning at the bottom or anything.

Anyone that's interested in heroin, especially the history of heroin dealing in NYC, should certainly watch it.

yea its an excellent quality rip. i dont know who has connections like that to get the screener of it, i want those connections too. the only bad thing ive seen is if u look at the walls as he is getting ready to leave after his wife/girl gets shot , look in the apt and they look like wavy thats the only bad parts. but if u shrink it on media player to 100% instead of full size its flawless.

they have this series called "Gangland" so first they had something about the Aryan Brotherhood, which i enjoyed and thought was pretty good, then right after that they had another one-- this time about Frank Lucas, and Nicky Barnes--which was also really good; they actually interviewed the real Frank Lucas, and the real Nicky Barnes (although Barnes' face was blacked out 'cause they said he is in Witness Protection living under an assumed name and people would still try to harm him today, thirty or so years after the fact)

Yeah, u saw that? Yo, those guys are no joke...I was surprised at one thing though, when the narrator was saying how they came into existence only about 40 yrs ago or so...i had just assumed that they were around a lot longer.

but yeah, the Brand runs shit on the yard, inside, hell they even said something about how they infiltrated the federal prison system, so their influence is all over...Sing Sing is a prison near where I live (well a bit north, but maybe a half hr drive) and I know a couple dudes who went in for possession and shit like that, and they told me the Aryan Brotherhood is very much around and active in that prison...

Oxy: "Aryans in Sing Sing." Your friends were wrong. There ARE a few prison gangs in the NE:

NY Bloods (not to be confused with the Bloods from LA, totally different save for the colours and lingo). Now formally known as the "New York BLood Nation" there colour is red.

The 5 Percenters are sometimes called a gang, and indeed often function as one within prison but it is more of a religion/culture. They believe that the Blackman is G-D and that the Whiteman is the Devil. They broke from the Nation of Islam in 1964, in NYC. Islam, especially the pseudo-strain of Black Islam (as in Nation of Islam) was widely practiced in the NE's prisons. That is actually how Malcolm X got into it (in Massachusets).

The 5 Percenters, or "G-Ds, have their own lingo, are very disciplined, and have a built in and highly structured system. They have no "clours" but they do have distinctive headgear that is banned in most prison systems. Known alternatively as a "Crown" or a "Koofee (sic)," it is a Muslim head covering (bit larger than the usual Jewish one but they look the same) with the addition of a tassel emanating from the center, on top. This symbolises the orbiting of the celestial bodies (seudo-science figures prominently in the cult).


Among Hispanics:


"Latin Kings." This group is an offshoot of the Chicago Puerto Rican street gang of the same name but they have barely any connection nowadays. Their colours are yellow and black. Within the prison system they are the most disciplined and in NY they are the largest organisation. The membership is predominatly very young and Americanised people whose parents primarily spoke Spanish.

"Netas." I do not have the character pak on my keyboard for the "Nyah" sound" and that is how the initial letter should be pronounced...as in "Nyettah." This gang originated in Puerto Rico in 1970, in a prison nicknamed Oso Blanco (White Bear) . It was formed to counter a gang that is now extinct, whichw as popularly known as G27, after the apartment in which they had their clubhouse in a housing project. In Prison though, by their large and beleagured opposition, they were know as "Los Insectos." Los Insectos used to rape and other fun stuff and Netas formed as a protective unification.

While they are the third in terms of size in NY Prison Gangs, Kings being 1, and Bloods being 2, Netas are the most disciplined. Bloods have all kinds of subsets and outside of prison do nothing more than lay claim to a couple of city blocks, and the Kings are primarily a drug dealing organisation in and out of prison, Netas are composed mainly of hardcore prisoners , many doing life. It is more popular with older inmates whose primary language is Spanish. The colours are red, white, and blue - the colours of the Puerto Rican flag.

Whites have no gangs in the NE. This might not be the case for long though. Pennsylvania is now home to an Aryan Nations offshoot who have set up shop in a compound in the town of Ulysees. It is possible certainly that IF their popularity ever reaches that point, that SOME enterprising whites just might start a prison offshoot. However, having spent time in NY and NJ facilities I would wager that this will never happen.

Whites in NE prisons (Vermont, Maine, and NH might be exceptions since each can count its black residents to the low thousands eaving solid white majorities in all areas) tend to try and keep a VERY low profile. I remember once being in Hunterdon County Jail in NJ, a jail that had less than 5 blacks and 2 were in PC., 2 blacks got arrested for funning heroin and cocaine out to Ittsburgh (the country lies along the East to West corridor out of NYC). Those 2 blacks ran their mouths like there was no tommorow. I remember feeling admiration that they could act so in the face of such overwhelming odds. Of course the white inmates did not say ANYTHING, probably remembering how tables would turn once they hit the state system.
