I really really like quite a few books that I've read, but one still really sticks out.
'Salem's Lot by Stephen King. I love that book. It's terrifying, emotionally immersive, creative, and has characters that feel real to the reader. I've read it three times and enjoyed every moment of all three.
Anything by Bret Easton Ellis.. Lunar Park is the most recent and is unbelievable.

Fav books; "the Shinning", i read that twice in High school, gosh that was over 20 years ago. Other favs; 'Bridges of Madison County', 'The Celestine Prophecy'. 'Johnathon Lingston Seagul'. I have others but can't think right now.
I'm not really a reader these days, it's impossible for me to read while opiated. I read when I'm sober though, haven't been sober long enough to read anything in almost 4 years though. I do enjoy it thoug
You know something strange. The Bridges of Madison county got me through my SO cheating on me and braking up with me. That book helped me heal. I started reading it after the day my So broke up with me and it kept me busy. Somehow, that book got me through it. I was devestated, just devestated, i cried all night, read the book all day.
Funny how a book can help you heal like that. That was shit, 10 years ago, maybe 8. Can't remember now. I never felt pain like that and never want to again which is why i stay single pretty much.

i'm reading some King right now, Different Seasons. I've been planning to get Salem's Lot next. I read 3 of his Bachman books last week (Roadwork, Running Man, The Long Walk)
my favorite book is actually a collection of short stories by Harlan Ellison called "Angry Candy"

they look really good, i've been looking for paperbacks at the local used bookstore , the hardbacks of dark tower still run 7-10 bucks a pop.
king gives an interview about them in a book i hvae of his published interviews in the 70's and 80/'s - very ingteresting how he came up with the ideas for the gunslinger and the language he uses in the books

I just remembered I've already got the first book in the series, The Gunslinger... it's somewhere at home though, I don't have it with me at college. I'll have to dig it out when I visit home.
