I have been reading up on this and being that I am a broke ass right now it sounds like an ok idea. As long as I do a little researching myself before I go. How do I go about finding these studies in my area? I googled it and no luck.

You are just looking for any kind of study to be in? Call your local Med school, they will have an office and can direct you exactly who to talk to. Also if you have a decent sized med-school, there are usually fliers posted advertising the studies that need entrants. If you're trying to find contact info for someone to call, look up the school's IRB- they will know which office handles human studies.

Also, search online- there are studies that are NOT done by universities- nowhere near as many as the number that Univ's do- but they're out there. Another thing to search is clinical trials in your area. If you know someone who works at a med school or who is a student, ask them too- most likely they see signs posted all the time! If you were in my area, i could give you a million #'s to call. I'm trying to get in one now that is paying $3600 and has no invasive testing (blood drawing), not a bad way to get some cash!

My local newspaper is FULL of studies. We don't have a medical school, but we have lots of research companies.

roadhead is 100% correct. clinicaltrials.gov is the "onestopshop" of human studies.

you can do the local college search, but ct will have them all.
