Using Methadone to WD from H

I have tried to find information on this, but have come up with very little.

I am wondering what you think about, or if you have experience with, using Methadone to ween/withdraw from H or other opiates. I am thinking very short term, like 4-5 days or so, starting one day at like 50mg and then going lower and lower each day and then stopping.

what are your opinions on this?
