So yeah this has probably ben discussed before but since everyone uses a different word for MJ and others can't spell it UTMFSE yourself =p
Do most done clinics test for pot? My friend usually only tokes on a rare occassion but he may be more frequent when he starts on done. Take homes are gonna be crucial so he doesnt wanna jeopardize that, but do most test? Is there a difference between private and public clinics in this regard as well? Like are private clinics less likely to test for this kinda stuff?
They do test in the UK,but no one cares if you smoke or not.
Jesus, the idea of my doc telling me I can't smoke weed is sad.

They test for 1 opies 2 benzo's 3 coke 4 amphetamines 5 cannabis, at our clinic.
The opies/benzo's/coke are the ones that would lose you takehome/s or worse (especially opies)
Benzo's - if you have a script for them, they let it slide obviously and probably don't test you for them.
Coke - you could lose your takehomes, but if you're lucky you'll just get a warning
Amphetamines i just got a warning for, didn't lose any takehomes over it.
MJ, everyone gets tested for, but they don't even warn you about it, its cool with them. I don't even know why they bother, as i suspect it would cost extra to test for that. But i suspect that it's for the counselor/shrink's record, as my shrink has brought up a few times when i used MJ (i don't use often at all), she just wanted to know my reasons for using MJ, nothing too serious. I know some clients smoke constantly, so they probably don't even bring it up in such cases.
That's how it is over here, anyway.
I think it will be very different in the States and probably vary from clinic to clinic. Or maybe not. i don't know.

All clinics are different. Though almost every clinic I know of tests for marijuana, very few penalize you for it. That said, my friend was kicked out of a clinic in Oregon for failing a drug test for marijuana, so you never know.

i go to a private clinic and if your levels of thc are under a certain level they dont give a fuck, but if they are up real high week after week they will penalize you.

The clinic in Lexington where I was at tested for pot, and they didn't really like for you to do it. I don't think you lost takehomes or anything, but they encouraged you not to do it. This was from me hearing people talk in the waiting room. The private clinic in Indiana used to NOT test people for pot, so a lot of people from Lexington / Western / Central KY would drive the extra miles to go there so they could continue to smoke, then in early 2006 that clinic changed its policy and began to test for pot, so a lot of people left that clinic and went to the one I was at, which was closer. I do know that for six weeks straight I used coke and would test positive for coke during that time, and all my counselor said was to try to not do it, and the doctor even gave me Provigil (a schedule IV stimulant) to try to counteract my coke cravings. I wasn't really craving it or anything, I was just dating someone who happened to do coke, so when I would hang out there, I'd do it too. But, I never was reprimanded for it or anything, and that was after I was at that clinic for four months. I also tested for opiates (via pod tea) for the first two months, but didn't get in trouble. They just kept upping my done dose because they said I was supplementing, which I guess I was. All in all, I think the private clinic in Lex is just out to make money. I do know that they are very strict with benzos. If you tested for benzos they would automatically cut your dose in half and you'd only be gradually brought back up after you tested negative for benzos. That happened to a few people I would see there, but never me. They were just afraid of the OD potential I guess. Other than that, they weren't that into punishing people. Now, I can't speak for takehomes, because I only got them on holidays when everyone did. You had to go 90 consecutive days and have 90 days worth of clean UA's before you got one take home (holidays excluded obviously), and I eventually got the 90 days worth, but I was on so much done I would about every other week skip a day just to get it out of my system. I actually felt better on the days that I missed than when I went to dose. Yet they kept telling me that my trough results showed low methadone blood serum levels, and I needed more. Toward the end I refused to go higher anymore, and actually had them take me down slowly, but by that point my family was pissed because I was actually worse on the done than on the other opies I was doing before (they paid for the MMT), so they refused to pay, and I couldn't pay for it, so I was detoxed from 140mg to 0mg in two weeks, and of course I started using pods again because I was so sick. All in all, I think MMT can work, but you have to really think about what will happen to you once you get to a certain point. And, I think it works better for some than others. I was actually worse during and after MMT than before (sickness wise), as it just raised my tolerance. I think the doctor just wanted to get people hooked on the done to get their money. It was just a big cash cow.

^^Definitely the impression I got from LPA as well. They were very funny about benzos, I failed for them at my first screen and they made me wait 2 weeks to even be considered(and of course, I didn't make the cut lol...).
