New pics of my rats (if anyone is interested)

Just thought I'd share these because they came out kinda neat. My goal this week is to take all new pictures of my rats (this is only 3 of my rats, i have more)

This is Dudley (The black and white photo), Dudley is one of my older guys, he's a dumbo as you can see by his ears, he's so sweet and cuddly. The second photo is Rainbow, she is one of my younger girls, she's a sweet dainty thing as you can see by her little hand lol (she's not a dumbo, she is standard eared). And the 3red Photo is my HUGE boy Rocco, he's also a dumbo.

I know not to many of your are interested in seeing my rat photo's or any pet photos for that matter but i hope you don't mind me sharing. I know there are a few of you on here who love rats.

Anyway, just wanted to share, i thought these pics were kinda cute.

Aw, I am really enjoying your pics, GOR. What sweeties! Did I tell you I built loft apartments for my rats? The "apartments" came out pretty nice & I'm going to keep adding on for aw hile, so as they all grow they'll have sufficient space to live in.

Oh can i see pics of it? If you have any. I built something like that once but it ended up taking up to much room, but someday I'm gonna build another one. We call them 'Grotto's' over on my rat groups. Rats love to live in those and their better than cages. It kinda gives them the feel of freedom.

Great pics GOR. Adorable. We had rats for a short stint, it seemed my daughter thought she was the worlds greatest care taker at FIRST, then guess who took over. ?:D

Those are some cool pics. They look as though they each have their own personality. Do any of them have any particular behavior patterns, skills or tricks they know? I thought it was funny how they got into your pods and were stoned for a whole evening. That was a great story.

When I'm feeling better I'll tell you about their pesonalities. I'm in mild w/d, all i have are Vics and i can only take a few at a time or I'll get sick even with CWE. So, I'm only taking enough to keep me well. I almost started my subs this morning but i wasn't sure if i was in deep enough w/d and i didn't want to get sicker so I'll just save those for when i have nothing. I placed a pre-order with the AZ guy but i haven't heard back from him so i have no idea if I'll get the pods tomorrow. Pre-order means, i pay when i get my check (which he's let me do before), usually he e mails me back really fast and it's been 2 days so i have no idea what's up.

I really hate Vicodin, makes my cigs taste like shit and they don't even get me high, they only get me well enough to move around, sit at the computer but that's about it.

I hate this!!!! Don't we all LOL.

At least I'm not in full-blown w/d

I fully understand. Even mild w/d is enough to suck the wind from my sails. I'm probably going to have to face the fact that eventually I'm going to have to w/d because this orthopedic doctor I'm going to is kind of crazy. This girl "Stacy" calls me today yelling at me saying "You can't have a refill you just got your vicodin Tuesday blah blah blah!" Then when I explained that my doc's office covered for me cause THE NEW DOC THERE wouldn't she's like "Sorry, gotta go," and hung up.

Well, when I told my wife about this she was pissed. She called back and as it turns out Stacy apologized to her because it was an old message. She was returning the message I had left before my PCP had decided to write me that "one last script" so she didn't know what was up.

I am dealing with a rat-cruelty issue right now. I found it on the web and was shocked by the pictures i saw. A few freinds of mine are in the works of calling the authorities. So I'm very sensitive right now and seeing DD's post has set me off even more.

That post wasn't in the best taste I'd agree. I'm not really sure if DD was trying to antagonize you or not but don't let that get to you.

Personally, I have two cats (both girls) that probably would not play nice with your rats (they've brought us offerings before of all kinds) but that does not mean I'm going to allude to anything nasty or gross.

Yes, things are the way they are in the animal kingdom but YOUR pets are YOUR pets, you know and whatever kind of animal they are people ought to have respect by virtue of them being your pets. IMO, if someone doesn't like rats in the first place why bother reading this thread!

So, are you outta W/D yet GoR? Feeling any better?

I had asked before if there were any one or two special rats to you and if what tricks/traits/qualities made them unique but I don't think it was good timing on my part (you weren't feeling well).

Even if you don't feel like answering here and/or now feel free to PM me some time I'm always interested in pets.

Nice Pics GoR. I can't say that rats are my animal of choice, but those are some cuties, and I totally respect anyone who is as passionate about their pets as you are. Without my pets I feel like I wouldn't make it through somedays ;)

rats are cool. i'm getting my daughter a ferret for her b-day, GOR. i'll send ya pic when/if she gets one. we used to have a ferret but he got reeeaaal sick and not that many vets here have that much experience with their health issues.

Those lil guys are to cute. I like the girlie one. It's weird you can almost see that she is girlie and dainty by the way she's holding her little hand. I have a 14 year old pitbull~
He's old as dirt loosing his hearing doesnt have the best eye sight anymore. Back in the day he was king! I think I love animals more than ppl. I cant even watch some of the shit on the animal planet..
I have NO idea what I would do (even thought I know it's inevitable) when Brutie goes to the animal king-dome!! Sense I live in an rv I dont think I'll be getting another 80 lb dog though. Rats maybe a nice change! This is gonna sound totally stupid: Can you leash train them? I mean, have you trained your rats to anything specific..???

Well you can sorda leash train them but not like a dog. Rats can be trained to do tricks and learn their names as well. You can put a leash on a rat, but you'll have to make it yourself, the only one's they sell are for ferrets and theya re a bit to big.

My dad used to tease me about making a fur-lined glove out of my white cat. When another white cat showed up one day he was elated. "Now we can have a pair of gloves!" It drove me crazy until I figured out he was just baiting me.

That's really cool! I didn't know they were that intelligent that they could distinguish their own name from among the names of others. My cats know their names "Stop it," and "Bad kittie." :)
