My sub doctor just saw me this week, I was in a hurry and not really paying much attention to the script until I took it in and then when I got home, I realized I had 2mg suboxones instead of the usual 8mg I am on. I went to the pharmacy and found out, my doctor wrote the script wrong and I already have 15 pills with the rest ordered already that I pay for when I come in monday to pick the rest up. What I wonder is, would I feel better on the 2mg's rather than the 8's with more naloxone in them(2mg naloxone)? I heard less is more with these things because of the naloxone in them, but wanted to get some opinions or suggestions before I tell my doctor etc or whatnot. I wonder if this will work to my advantage, like getting more pills than I was supposed to? or will I go into wd if I suddenly drop from 3 8mg subs daily to 3 2mg daily?

Sounds like your doctor needs a good slap upside the head...

Wow, I got my script taken care of the next day(monday)and to top it off I got 16 free 2mg pills sitting here for whenever I need em. Heck nobody can be with too many opiates sitting around waiting to be used. Now when my lovely vicodin binge is over with which I dread, I'll have plenty of subs sitting here to shake the wd's through Christmas. Then when the holiday is over with, its on to the methadone clinic when things settle down and I have more money after christmas.

:D This question gets to the heart of the weird drug that buprenorphine is.When I was detoxing off of oxycontin ,I would have said 8mg was better ,now that I am using for maintenance I would say definitely 2mg.Agonist,antagonist,partial agonist, titrate, receptors'blah, blah, blah, sis boom bah! Jargon and sciencespeak to me, I just know what i know and to quote Rumsfeld:"It is- what it is." :D
