Insomnia From Buprenorphine

Anyone on buprenorphine get insomnia like a mutherfucker from it? I do. I have been getting like 4 hours sleep each night lately and I wake up at 2:30 in the morning and don't feel tired. I have been going to work at 3:30am and working until about noon. We have a "flexible" workday schedule where I work, so it works out o.k. for me.

Anyone have insomnia from bupe?

Hey Zoop, yeah it is a known fact that buprenorphine causes that in some people. It does it to me, yet not to my brother. He takes his night pill RIGHT before he goes to sleep. I cannot take it 2-3 hours before I go to bed otherwise I will just lay there, or like you, wake up in the wee-hours of the night.

hey zoop i did the bup detox that shit did not work ! i injected 4 viles and still had mad withdrawl and sleep that was not happin even with the sanota sleeping i was taking. do you get the viles or the shit that you take by mouth. i took it 2001 and all they had viles

I am on those 8mg subutex tablets. 99% of the time, I am railing up each dose (snorting). Shot them a few times too, and that was really no better than snorting and way more hassle to prepare. I want to go to suboxone, the one with the naloxone in it b/c I am clearly abusing the subutex. Really, I am trying to get this fucking monkey under control. So, I am interested in suboxone. Also, the doctor gave me Goddamn 20 ambien 10mg's last Thursday, even after I went throug my extensive drug abuse history, which includes a peroid of time where I got physically dependent on ambien! Stupid doctor! I took all 20 of them within 12 hours! Total blackout (again). I have to tell this guy not to give me anymore of that shit, reminds me too much of benzo's I have abused in the past.

Anyway, you should try bupprenorphine again. When you took it before, you most likely didn't have enough dosage. Those 1ml ampules of bupenex are only 0.3mg each, so even if you shot up four of 'em, that's only 1.2mg, which is a VERY SMALL dose, as far as opiate addicts go. For pain relief, that's a good-sized dose.

bupe is a lifesaver, the insomnia is a bitch, though. I think I'll ask for phenobarbital for the insomnia it causes, that stuff makes me REALLY sleepy and there is no buzz to it at all, I don't even know why it's controlled.

Check it out - I went for my second appointment with my bupe doctor today. He upped it to 12mg per day at my request. So, I can rail up 4mg three times a day. When it came down to it, I couldn't bring myself to say "please only write for suboxone" because I guess I am hooked on abusing buprenorphing. (shooting, mostly snorting).

Also the sleeping pill issue came up. I started off as planned, telling him that I took the 10mg ambien on Friday and on Saturday night, and both times it "gave me high like I used to get back when I was abusing benzo's, which scared me and I flushed the remaining 18 tablets down the toilet" The real truth is that I gobbled up all 20 ambien 10mg tablets within 12 hours, leading to a complete blackout. Nothing really bad happened, thankfully. But I cannot control myself when it comes to heavy sedatives, just like with alcohol.

So, you know what doctor does? My plan was to ask him for phenobarbital to help me sleep. There is absolutely no kick or any type of high you can get from phenobarbital. And beleive me, I tried. I took up 1o 180mg and basically just fell asleep. I don't even know why it's controlled. I think the reasons is because its really mean cousins, seconal, nembutal and tuinal have give barbiturates a bad rap. Phenobarb would be perfect b/c all it does is make me sleepy as a
mutherfucker.

I didn't even get to say "phenobarbital" when the good Chinese doctor is writing out a scrip for Lunesta, that new non-benzo-benzo (fake benzo) sleeping pill. MY curiousity outweight my desire to have phenobarbital, I guess, so I took the RX.

As it so happend, 6 mg of lunesta is pretty fucking nice! 'specially on top of bupe
