Will I regret it if I switch from Oc's to Opana?

Saw new pain specialist & he wants me to try this (wonderful new Opana ER 20mgs). OH & with NO b/t meds I might add as he claims this one really DOES last 12 hrs. Of course this is the 1st time he ever saw me so he may lighten up. Plus I don't have to switch to him but I can if I want or just stay with my current GP. but that is beside the point.........
Currently I am on Oc's 20s 3x daily with percs for b/t. I am having a hard time findiing any good info on Opana, & most of what I have read hasn't' been super positive (like on health forums) but this is also from ppl who were only on like 5 or 10mgs. sooooo (& I did do an opi search HONEST:( just can't find a lot here either. ) Was hoping maybe someone has some info on this.........if not I guess I"Ll be the guinea pig & report back as I am going to get it filled & give it a try, b/c i got the ok from my reg Dr.s office to do so & then by my appt next week I"ll know how it "fits" with me. I just hope I don't screw myself & then my Dr. decides to follow the pain Dr.s reccs as the pain Dr. despises OC's (b/c they don't last & do leave ppl with b/t) he did say I could take my other meds with it even my xanax so I guess I'll just have to try it & see. Was just hoping maybe some of you more educated opi's would know something.

also I am not a banger or a snorter (though I am starting to think about snorting an OC b/c I really can't feel them anymore, seems like no matter h ow effing much pills I take I can't really feel them) so I wonder if I will "feel" the opana? I am reading that it has only 10% bio availability taken orally but that it is like a teva in that the time release cannot be broken......(thought I have chewed tevas & felt them better(

LOL, that guy hates oxy's but doubt I'll be switching to him, he's a little too full of himself & he said my own Dr. could just take his recc's if he wants & write for the Opana himself. however I did leave there with script & got permission from "my" Dr's office to try it so I am going to & i' ll report back how it goes.
Reviews I have read are 50/50 pretty much some say it works great for pain others say nada. As for euphoria , well lets hope so! LOL been forever seems no matter how much I gobble anymore I can't get that but a little nice warm & fuzzy with adequate pain relief sure as fuck wouldn't hurt my feelings any!

Granted, feel free to try the Opana. I myself have tried the Opana and Opana ER. For pain control, yes they are pretty fair-thee-well descent, they WILL control your pain, BUT I switched back because I had to have that Euphoria, me and my junkyass self, hardy-har-har.

Please, BQ, words of wisdom, from this ONE SOUL...if you haven't banged/SNORTED...then DON'T. Let me HELP YOU HELP YOURSELF...TRUST ME, YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO DOWN THIS GOD-FORSAKEN ROAD! Satan himself, won't let you looooooooose from that grip. So, JUST SAY NO!

downside to Opana, if you dont have insurance its EXPENSIVE as hell.....they are supposed to be 2x stonger than oxy.......I have never been prescribed them, but a friend is, he likes em......I have taken them and they work well for pain, but the euphoria is so-so when taken orally......snorting them works, but you have to use a wire strainer or a hose clamp to grate them up into a fine powder, or they will gel in the nose....but it works.....euphoria is better when snorted....but yah I agree with the prevoius poster, if you dont have a snorting/IV habit...dont start....you get hooked to the route of admin almost as much as the drug.......my nose is now FUCKED cause of snorting everything....anyways good luck and enjoy your pills....

oh another note....they have a diff feeling than oxydocone, more of a warm body high, instead of the speedy head oriented high of oxycodone...

if your only ROA is orally, then in terms of ephouria, the OC's win hands down,

Now for actual main relief? cant help you there, but if the Opana dosage is enuff that its the same as
what you were getting with the OC's, then its your choice.

you do swtich your ROA to slammin, then u'll get problems with the opana's, they turn into balls of goop

BlenderQueen: From what I have seen personally Opana does work for pain relief. Euphoria...not so much on the ER's. Personally i would have you current doc up your dosage to 3x40mg a day and see how that goes. If you are honestly trying to control your pain don't expect to get any euphoria after a while. Euphoria is a side effect not the point of PM.You are going to have to judge the effectiveness of whatever your on by how well it controls your pain. Try the opana and see if it works, if not then no harm no foul.There are LOADS of people out there with legit pain who cant get shit prescribed because of Narco Phobic DEA agents breathing down doctors necks and not letting them do their jobs. Consider yourself lucky to be getting oc 20's living in the eastern US. Im not trying to be a dick or anything so please dont take it that way. I read it somewhere here before but cant remember who said it but "It's fuckers like us who ruin it for fuckers like us." :P If you want to get high just conserve your pills and 'treat' your self once in a GREAT while. Easier said than done....

Yes I switched from Oxy to Opana and It was OK. I had 10mg instant
release Opana for breakthrough also though. The 10mg were the best.
The slow release was ok, about the same as OC. But as mentioned above
I could only afford it for two months then I had to go back to OC and
levorphanol. You could definitly do worse, but try to get some of the
instant release ones. Good Luck

I would personally stick with the oc but have the dosage raised. As for you saying you are going to try and snort an oc to make it stronger actually the opposite will happen, now dont get me wrong I love railing some oxy but more oxycodone is released into your body crushing them up and swallowing them orally as opposed to snorting them... The popularity of snorting is because of the faster onset of effects but you lose about 15% more when snorting them in contrast to the amount taken orally.

10mg of Opana is SUPPOSED to be the ANALGESIC equalivolent of 20mg of Oxy. From what I have heard form a few people I know that have tried it is that it does work well for pain but there is very little euphoria form the ER, in other words you don't "feel it"

i have had three opana, red, 20mg? i think? instant release i think? anyways i banged the suckers, no gelling(!?!?) and the rush was like a ton of bricks. seriously, and i had a decent half gram a day tar habit at the time. i know you dont shoot and by all means DO NOT START, but this info / experience may be of some use to others reading this. to get them into solution i did have to heat lightly and draw the red fluid up into an untipped rig through a fresh cotton twice then i backloaded my fresh tipped rig. the solution was still red but free of particulates, leaving a decent amount of trash in the spoon/cottons. again the rush was a complete surprise.l i prepped a shot for my room mate(by no means opi naive herself) and after i pulled the rig out i asked her how it was... slumped over, eyes drooped, all the could mumble was' 'atonofbricks...' your mileage may vary but id take the ones i had over 80mg(yes, 80!) oxy and day. go figure?
