Well, made an interesting discovery today. Small, controlled amounts of anti-cholinergics do wonderful things to the sweat-chill phase of withdrawl. In my case, it was 200 mcg of glycopyyrolate, IV. Took about 10 minutes to completely eliminate the sweats and the accompanying chills. Side effects -- dry mouth to hell, have to sip water every couple minutes or I start to get crackly (great for doing Rod Stewart impressions, though). Ditropan and a few other agents should work. They might not affect everyone as easily and comfortably, and of course I'd advise finding oral sources rather than daily IV doses until you're through that phase of the fun-zone...but it's worth checking out.
Oh, and I don't know about the other agents, but 2mg glycopyyrolate in the morning pre-breakfast, once per day, is approximately equivalent to what just bypassed my GI tract..
