Okay... I just need to vent. Recently moved to a new area, found a GP who was more than willing to write my scripts until I found a new PM doc.. found one, went through all their bullshit, and the first script she wrote me was for 50mg of methadone a day and 2 7.5 percs... that was down from 240mg a day and 2 30mg Oxy IR a day... go figure... lasted me 9 days... get this.. the fucking place even wants you to bring your pills in every month to be counted... so I go back, in withdrawls, tell the bitch it aint working... so what does she do, gives me a 100mg a day... here I am, 19 days later with 80mg left... all the percs are gone and I hurt like a bitch. I don't mind tapering, but goddamn... this bitch is going to kill me!

EDIT::: in my frustration, I actually posted this in the wrong forum. When one of your mods get the chance, could you please move this to the management forum? Thanks!

You have to stay in the exam room and refuse the script or discuss with your doc what you were on prior to her taking over your care...or tell your PCP to write a letter stating what meds and in what amounts you had been on before, etc....

When you just take what they hand out you'll always get screwed but how did she even calculate your starting dosage to begin with?

they knew what I was on.. my records were transferred... problem is, the practice is very coservative... I wrote a letter to my PCP requesting help and a transfer, I guess we will see. I am so sick of this fucking merry go round I don't know what to do. But, such is life I guess... Charles Chaplin said: "Nothing in this wicked world is permanent, not even our troubles.'

Thanks for the advice though..

If you have documentation to verify the previous regimen I would adamantly ask for the proper dosage and if refused go over he head. Sadly, well i do not know where you are, b ut in N. America there is umpteenth ignorance over emthadone for both OST and analgesia.

You might also try going to another provider because very often in the same area even you ccan have totally different results.
