I am taking kratom for relieving suboxone withdrawal symptoms...i know their cake compared to h withdrawal, but they still suck. My question is...does kratom relieve and delay withdrawal symtoms...or does it mask them while the body is withdrawing
Thanks

I've taken Kratom while detoxing from hydros with great success. Not proud of this at all but my hydro doses were sky-high and way unhealthy. During my last detox, I stumbled upon info on Kratom and happen to find a store that sold it in my area that day. It was nothing short of a miracle. It didn't get me high but instead I felt normal. No body pains, no potty problems, no muscle spasims and I was able to sleep. Most importantly - I was able to function. I would highly recomend K with withdrawls.

My understanding of biochemistry is somewhere below novice...but the way I hear it is, kratom is a delta opioid agonist, which means it should be able to fend off some withdrawals, while not causing a ton of euphoria(which happens mostly with the mu receptors) While in large enough doses some mu crossover will occur, it's not going to be a ton of euphoria.
To answer the question another way, I have heard of people maintaining on kratom with varying degrees of success

The Kratom works fucking excellent for withdrawls of oxycontin, morphine and codeine as well. Your right duke about the mu recepters and the crossover to the K to it from the delta. I know when i do a large dose of K there is one fuck of alot of euphoria not to mention the fuckin shakes and i cant walk straight and some other unwelcome side effects. But if you just lay down its quite enjoyable.

mitragynine is the chemical in kratom that is a delta agonist and has mu crossover, but there are mu agonists in kratom as well.

How well does Kratom mix with Methadone? I'm just curious if it will send someone who's on Methadone into withdrawal. I've heard that Tramadol will put a regular Methadone user into withdrawal as well, therefore i've been terrified to experiment with it. Has anyone had any experience with Kratom and Methadone "Maintenance" for pain or addiction it doesnt really matter? And does Kratom really curb withdrawals well?
Tarveins, I never saw this when you first posted it, but it's funny because I am exactly the opposite of your situation - I am taking suboxone and subutex (mostly subutex - I conned my doc into telling me that the suboxone doesn't hardly affect me at all - it's actually sorta true) for KRATOM withdrawals. Believe me, kratom w/d's is no fucking joke!
As for kratom helping with methadone, methadone is so strong (specially if you're on high doses), I doubt if taking anything short of like a whole ounce of kratom at a time will even touch the w/d's. Super high doses of kratom tend to cause nausea and dizziness too, so there's a ceiling effect to how opiated you can get with it. But, I was totally physically addicted to kratom from February of 2005 to just about a month ago, when I got on buprenorphine.
So, Tarveins, what's up with you now - that original post in this thread is two weeks ago. Are u ok?
Oh, and Ontario Opio, I really think your new avatar is boss! Is that Hung?
