I recently had a new member ask me a few questions concerning the security and privacy of the board. Although opiophile.org doesn't ask for real names, we do ask for birthdates and on occasion (through donations) your street address could be made available to us.
I've added a Privacy Statement towards the bottom-right of every page. As far as security, here is our configuration:
IIS v6, fully patched and updated
PHP 5.0.4, fully patched and updated
vBulletin v3.0.7, fully patched and updated
mySQL v4.1, fully updated
HP Surestore Backup/Restore System
Hardware and Software Firewalled, as well as Anti-viral protection, fully updated
Never will your information from a donation be retained. Any personal information is destroyed immediately after use and our logs are available only to myself.
