Hey, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what long term use of oxy's do to your body? I have been a pretty habitual user and have become worried because of unusual pains in my chest and lower abdomen.

Any ideas?

Thanks :o

I'd also be interested in knowing a clear answer on this. Not just oxy but opiates in general. I was always under the impression that there was no long term organ damage. The only damage I was ever aware of was incidental(from the method of administration or improperly using something like taking a patch orally)

If safely administered what exactly ARE the long term effects?

there are no negative long term physical effects.

The only real negative effects are short term...other than addiction you have the dreaded constipation. I know when I'm on a long opio-bender after a while I start to get bad pains and even twitches in my stomach and chest...that's just gas & shit that's built up causing that. It was happening to me so bad this weekend that I actually thought it was maybe something much worse...then I took a bunch of laxitives and proceeded to shit my brains out, after which I felt 100% better.

Yeah me too man. I was a little nervous about my intestines maybe blowing a gasket or something. I wonder what if any of the long term repercussions of constant constapation are. Anybody know???

constipation is not good for your pelvic floor guys so exersize it
or your be :peeonme: well not quite like that cos your have a bag

eat imperal mints they have pepermint oil in them or make your own drink with peppermint oil only 1 drop is needed dont use laxitives all the time as your body will need them after a while but i think peppermint it ok??
thats why old granys eat them

and dont strain to hard! :uhhohh:

edit
oh and i have heard of colon ruptur with darvon abuse

lol just thort theirs this friend of a friend who ONLY eats space cadets (REAL SHITTY CHIPS/CRISPS) and ONLY drinks cola that’s it,
Anyway blood started coming out of his ring so he went to hospital turned out he hadn’t shit for 3 weeks! I cant remember the details but I think they had to remove a bit of his small intestine or do some heavy repair work on somthing.

See many people tell me the same thing, however when I search the internet I find articles like this one below that state that opium shortens your life span with regular use. Obviously if the drug is strong enough to cut your life then it has to be doing something to your body that takes place over time. It seem ignorant to think you can do up all the opium and oxys you want and there will be no reprocussions.

A quote from this page:Long term effects of repeated opium use are severe. A person can develop an infection of the heart lining and valves. If unsterile technique is used when injecting opium, the user has a high risk if developing infections including HIV(human immunodeficiency virus) which is a virus that causes AIDS(acquired immune deficiency syndrome).
I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty certain that they are referring to endocarditis, a bacterial infection that feeds off of the heart valves, which would not be caused directly from long term opiate use, but by unsterile injection practices. (I suppose this could have been intended by the statement, but it is unclear as the mention of sterility is contained in a separate sentence which follows the indication of potential infection.) I'm also pretty dammed sure the author of this article meant to say "when injecting opiates", rather than the stated "when injecting opium."

i suffered from minor constipation while habitually using it, but it never got too bad. only had to use laxatives occaisonally.

I've been on the oxys for 5 or 6 years and i was fine but recently i found a few negative things. First i seem to have lost alot of my motivation for things i enjoy like fishing. Also i found my sex drive went down to but i thought it was cause of these Effexors i was prescibed but im not sure anymore. I quit the oxys for a few weeks (thanks to Kratom), and my sex drive came back with a vengence ( i was calling ex girlfriends etc.). But i must admit whenever my girlfriend was visiting me i would always preform but my desire just wasn't like it should be. Oh ya i take at least 200mg of oxycodone a day, and some days alot more.

You mentioned in a previous post that u'd used H in the past. Total respect for managing to use just very occasionally!! I'm impressed thats where I long to be.....Hopefully this year Ill kick it into touch and just manage on my script, smoking a draw and the odd drink. (alcohol is another thing which I like way too much for my own good. Anyway didn't u find the H affected your motivation. I find its one of the worst things about using, I am just so what shall I call it 'apathetic for want of a better word'. I've found that I've just totally lost all motivation for anything other than getting wasted. Don't get me wrong I function totally normally to the outside world (at least I think I do) ie looking after my kids, partner, keeping myself and the house clean, going to college etc. Its just nothing inspires me like it used to.Thats what I want back most of all, a zest for living. laters Poppyx
Ps. I'm going to look into the kratom, poppy tea angle on things, I'd never heard of either till I stumbled on this forum.

Ya poppy the motivation aspect is what makes me get clean for awhile (if i can cope with the neck pain) to see what i have been missing. The Kratom is my saviour. It really really works for my WD totally, but H is not oxys bro. Because of how great i feel about the Kratom i even am gonna start selling it and i have Kilos of it now. Trust me its the real deal man. But everyone is different as our opiate of choice. So you'll have to give it a whirl. Im part of a Kratom group on yahoo thats really good for all info on the herb. I'll get the link for you and anyone else who is interested and post it soon.

I would try Kratom if i knew it wouldnt send me into massive withdrawals. I'm on methadone for pain and I'm terrified to use anything except proven opiate agonists like morphine or other straight forward drugs. I'm terrified of tramadol and those semi agonists and i'm wondering if Kratom will send someone into withdrawal. I wouldnt mind trying pods either. I'm sick of having lousy pain control and would like to find a natural solution. Or something other than methadone or oxy. Methadone is pretty useless for pain. At one point it was really good but it sucks now and tylenol even works better for me. The only thing that has ever touched the pain was demerol. People think demerol is pretty lame usually but that stuff gets you pretty high. I had a bottle of 200 when I was 16 on a camping trip and I got so high every night it was amazing haha. It was a church camp too and everyone was doing demerol with me and we were all smoking behind the priests back and stuff lol. It kicked ass. Export A Green, aka green death cigarettes. Oh man back in the day. Anyways back to the topic of this thread. From what I know opiates have no long term effects. Possibly organ troubles if you are overdosing alot or using heavily for your entire life. And i'd assume that your brain would have some major changes in it's chemistry and that your brain would probably be changed permanently. Especially if you used as a teen (which i did) I think that if you used when you were a young teen your brain didnt develop normally and you're not really able to feel normal without the drugs. But i could be wrong. I personally was never happy without opiates. It wasnt that I wanted to get high or anything. I just functioned normally while on opiates. Amphetamine and Benzo's did nothing but opiates could make me focus so well and keep me interested in school and life. I know some people will say oh thats just junkie behaviour to want drugs but I truly believe my body is meant to run on opiates. My fuel is opiates and my body does not run efficiently without it's fuel. When i was like 13 i broke down in front of my mom and told her i just didnt feel normal unless i was on percocet or methadone and this was just before I was even "addicted". From the beginning I found that just one or two percocet could totally kill any anxiety or depression I had. If I didnt have these medications I would have killed myself for sure. My mother never understood why I took it and she thought it was jsut a phase and that I was just a druggy and she would never believe that i actually just felt normal whilee on these drugs. I could function normally, drive, go to school, play sports, play piano, go fishing and hunting and do a whole bunch of things that anyone else could do. So why the hell was it so wrong? I still am a member of the opiate church and I always will be. Anyways yah i'm ranting sorry i'm just a bit buzzed. Constipation is a major side effect of opies as we all know. I dont go to the bathroom more than once a week. I'll probably end up with a bag in the place of my colon cuz it's going to be ruined from all this constipation. I take 5 Senokot, 3 Biscodyl and 4 Docusate Sodium Laxatives once a week to empty myself out and it works quite fine. You just have to give yourself 5 to 10 hours before it kicks in so do it on a weekend when you can be home when they kick in. Otherwise you may time it wrong and it may kick in at work or somewhere else and it can be quite embarassing and you may scare your co workers or anyone near you. lol. Laxatives are also EXTREMELY painful. So get ready for hell if you take the amount I take. People who aren't used to laxatives shouldnt take many. Only 1-3 Biscodyl (small yellow ones) and maybe 3 brown ones (senokot) and 1 or 2 red ones (docusate sodium). Even 3 yellow biscodyl should work for someone who's not used to laxatives. Dont use them regularly either or your bowels become dependant and you will have to take them everytime you want to go to the bathroom.

Ive been on percocets for a few years now, and aside from the constipation im pretty sure ive had other side effects from it. These range from a strange numbness on my back to the most annoying hiccups ive ever had (no kidding, as soon as i get high sometimes, ill get incontrollable hiccups) also, difficulty urinating and im sure theres more i dont remember

The APAP could potentially cause organ damage, but the oxy itself is basically harmless.
